One-track mind?
So I ran into a bit of a problem while coding. It has to do with data tables. And how to make code that advances the variable that reads it. Because I've tried everything and I can't seem to do it. Last night I made a poster for the game.
And I have been working a lot on it. I figured a data table would be the route to go with this game because I want the tracks to be somewhat long in length. I played Excitebike last night searching for ideas. That led to a zipper thing that I added in. When you run over it, it gives you a short burst of speed. I'm not exactly sure if that's what happens in Excitebike, since I ran over it and nothing happened. But it's in Super Mario Kart so I kept it in. So I guess now I wait until someone decides to help me.
I figured I should have more than one track for Chris to race himself on. So later I'm going to put in an option for more than one track, since Excitebike has 5 different ones. Track number will be selectable via the joystick. And then pressing ACTION will start the race and clock.
I got out my Odyssey 2 and hooked it up and it still works, so that's good. My C7050 cart still works as well, so I can still test this game on it. I drew that poster, scanned it, colored it and went to sleep at about 1 a.m. Didn't get up until about 2 p.m. I don't know. I know it's probably not good for me to get 13 hours of sleep a night (I'm sleeping more than half my life away.) but I also figure if I didn't need it, I wouldn't sleep it.
