I needed a background music song. One about the city. There have been many songs about cities ("we built this city on rock & roll", "summer in the city") but I thought of those after my selection. I went with the oldie "Puttin' on the Ritz." Why this? It was the only song I could think of. That and it was semi-easy to figure out all the notes to. I decided to put it in the key of C minor. I like C minor because it's almost like C major and C major is the key that has no sharps or flats in it.

Although I do have a question. In my MIDI making software, it has two key options which are interesting and spark a question: G sharp major/minor and A flat major/minor. What? I thought G sharp and A flat are the same note. What is the difference between the two?

Anyway, I like my rendition. And it goes well with the limited Pokemon Mini's ability to have only one track. I switch between upper notes for the main notes, and for the long pauses in the song, I composed some tiny little passages that I put in lower notes. And the whole thing is about 30 seconds. The main song is about 15 seconds, but I put in two different lower note things, so the whole thing is 30 seconds. Which fits in well with the rest of the game's music. And so now I'm ready to go forward with a new screen now that I finished the one I was working on. Something's stopping me, though, the one stumbling block that always seems to get me: lack of ideas.

Didn't get much quality sleep yesterday. My time of sleeping on the couch being with the dog that doesn't like to be alone was limited. Then I can just sleep. And the dog presumably goes to sleep as well. I don't know what the dog does when I sleep on the couch when I'm asleep because I'm asleep. Perhaps she goes and eats cat poop in the litterbox. But I moved my sleeping to my bed at 5 p.m. and woke up at about 1 a.m. So that's about 8 hours of lovely, quality sleep. Which is all a normal human should usually get anyway.
