Wii Reviews: Super Mario Galaxy
If there's one thing I can't stand in video games, it's difficulty (which is one of the reasons I like the Atari 2600). Unfortunately, Mario's latest game falls into this category. Mario has been slipping in quality ever since he entered the 3D era with Super Mario 64. While SM64 and Super Mario Sunshine were great games, they could never compare to Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros. 3. But, I digress. Anyway, if I were given one word to review this game, it would be "HARD!" Even New Mario Bros. was hard, but I managed to see the ending. But it would take a miracle for me to beat this pile of garbage. I lost like three lives trying to get past the first mission in the first level before saying "This game's being mean to me" and ejecting it. Luckily, if I ever want to return to this game, I have 4 lifes left, but I don't think I'll be doing that soon, if ever. In the past, some games have started out hard and then have gotten easier. Mario Kart DS when I first played it, was super hard. Now it's easy and I've unlocked everything. But whoever thought of Mario having only three hits before he dies should die a slow and painful death. In previous 3D Mario games, it was 8. Why did they have to make the game HARDER?! And it took me 10 minutes to catch those three stupid rabbit things. And I tried the spin move on the Piranha plants, but they kept on chewing on me until I was dead. Maybe if they had made the spin move keep lasting until I stopped shaking the remote, I might have gotten past the first level, but noooo, it ends and you have to reset the move, and right after the spin move ends (and before you can start another spin move), the stupid plant eats you. HARDD!!! I think I'll go back to Wii Sports now until I get Mario Kart Wii. Let's hope Nintendo hasn't screwed that one up.
final rating: 3/10.
