Progress report - Aiming for realism

Okay, another long delay between entries. I probably won't have a 1K version ready for the mini-game compo this year. I am not getting the free time I hoped to work on this project, but it will be done some day. I have done some research and found information about the lunar excursion modules used in the Apollo program to actually land on the moon. I have the size of the lander so I am setting my pixel sizes to make the sprite an accurate scale model. I also have the fuel capacity of the lander and the force output of its engine. So I am hoping to make a very realistic simulation of what an Apollo moon landing might feel like, at least in terms of the gravity and thrust physics. I do plan to make it more exciting terrain wise. ;)One aspect I want to include is that a large portion of the mass of the ship is the solid fuel that it carries. As the ship burns fuel its mass drops and the engine lifts the ship more easily. Using a simple F=ma formula I can get the ships acceleration A = Force/Mass. As the fuel is consumed and the mass drops the ship flight characteristics will change. That's all I have for now. Next entry I will post a crude playable demo.
