Ah....the Arcade

Its ben about 23 years now since I first heard the word "arcade". I came to love those dim lit dungeons where you could spend a saturday afternoon pumping quarters into the classics. I suppose I look back at the arcade days the way my dad looks back at the matinees at the theateres of his youth. Due in large part to the rise and advancement of home video games, arcades are largely a thing of the past. Sad.....but thats the way things seem to evolve. My father now hits Blockbuster on a saturday night and picks up a few dvds. I will usually hit the Gamecube for an hour a night after putting my daughter to bed.All hope is not lost though. For us nostalgic types, Gameworks and the like are becoming popular with the 30 somthings who long for that arcade type of experience. (plus they have a bar!)I guess as we evolve as humans, our entertainment evolves with us....meaning we have to say farewell to some things to welcome others.Heres to the arcade......rest in peace
