I am going to make a comprehensive list of every single word beginning with the letter X in the English language. I believe this will take a while. The Salem Public Library has an edition of the OED (Oxford English Dictionary). I checked online (Amazon.com) for the price: $995.00! Being 20 volumes, I still think it's too much. Anyway, I got started with my dictionaries as well as pop culture references (movie and TV show titles). The current list is here. They say they're working on an OED3 (third edition) which will be completed in the '30s (20+ years from now.) By that time I will be in my 50's! What inspired me to do this? There's an old book I have called "Things To Do on a Rainy Day." One of the things is to make a list of words beginning with X. I've done past tries, but I want a total list, so hopefully it won't take very many trips to the library to look at the OED and write down the words listed and their meanings. Makes me wish I had a laptop come to think of it. Well, that's it for today from my weird world.
