UMG sucks balls
So does YouTube. I found the reason why my video keeps playing automatically. It appears YouTube thinks the video in question (along with another one) is owned by UMG. UMG does NOT own copyrights to some rinky-dink TV station in Salem, Oregon. I don't even think Viacom owns the rights to it even though it said "Viacom Cablevision" at the top because it's a local station. So, UMG sucks donkey balls for wrongly assuming this, and so in part does YouTube because they let UMG take down or classify videos that they deem (most of the time wrongly) copyright broken. For example, the other video flagged by YouTube and UMG is also local news coverage (from 1986) from KOIN. Unless UMG owns the rights to stupid Muzak songs, then they are wrong about doing this, and even if they DO own the rights, they are still being stupid because I am not making monetary gain from posting videos of other peoples' stuff on YouTube. Family Communications, Inc., which owns Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, made me take down the last episode I had. And yet, stuff from Sesame Street is still on there. Kind of boggles the mind, doesn't it? I'm thinking about deleting my account all together if this s*** keeps happening every time I try to upload innocent stuff because apparently UMG owns the rights to every single piece of recorded sound in the universe.
