Hi there!
Impressive! I really didn't manage to finish this classic jump'n'shoot in one night:
Not even with savestates!
For one is it really big with 20 large levels, and then underneath the thick layer of cutesy it's getting tough as nails halfway into it. Not only through really mad level design, but also by it's mercilessly unforgiving collision detection.
For my defense I've to say that I didn't save the state every few pixels, but rather tried beating each level en block, saving only between levels.
But really, this game is tough to crack. For the pirate ship at the end of level 4-4 I even needed to consult gamefaqs to confirm that the level was actually really solvable - I thought I was missing some trick
Well, I was so exhausted when finally making it past that scene, that I decided to continue struggling through the final quartet of stages tomorrow
The game itself is technically surprisingly solid, especially considering that it wasn't converted by the mighty Taito themselves, but by a European team. Only problem is the music: It sounds good the first five minutes, but it's just one single, rather short, endless loop that is used for all levels. After an hour you'll hate it, after two it'll drive you insane
Greetings,
Manuel
