childhood memories
I still have that book about pogs I bought while vacationing at Sunriver. I also remember bringing my SNES and renting Stunt Race FX. This was in the summer of 1994. I want to say 1995, but by then the pog phase was over. I still have my pogs, too. All almost 2,000 of them. Remember that blog entry where I said I was really bored so I counted all my pogs? Well, I want more pogs. So send me yours. You'd think it would be the kind of thing you'd see at flea markets, but I haven't run into anything from my youth. I must be too young to be going to those things. The only thing that comes close is a Micro Machines Star Wars kit I bought. The flea market is off during the summer, which I think is stupid. You would think more people would go to the flea market BECAUSE it was summer. Well, anyway, I want to buy some pogs in lieu of going to the flea market, which I can't do because it's summer. The way I figure it, if Cartoon Planet was popular between '95-'97 and they brought it back in 2012, then pogs should have been on the comeback last year, but they weren't and still aren't. Was it really that dumb of an idea? Am I just wasting my time going about trying to find pogs? No, because they make me happy. I guess I still think I'm a kid because I never matured. The prospect of being 30 years old in November is scary. That means I'm old. I don't like to feel old. That's why I want your pogs. To distract me from the fact that I'm old. Please don't comment that "Alf is back, in Pog form." I wonder why they included that line in a Simpsons episode from 1997. Pogs were dead for two years when that aired!
