   On this day in 1983, the American film "Wargames" is released. 
   WarGames (1983) is about a teen hacker, David Lightman, who accidentally accesses a U.S. military supercomputer, mistaking it for a game company. He starts a game called Global Thermonuclear War, nearly triggering WWIII when the system treats it as a real attack. David uses his modem to autodial phone numbers looking for systems to hack. This technique inspired the term "wardialing", named after the film, and was later used by hackers to scan for active modems.
