On October 12, 1990, Orion Microsystems (the company owned by Keith Ledbetter and Chris King) sell the BBS Express Pro! source code to Bob Klaas of K Products. According to the attached archived message on the Basement BBS, the source code was sold for $5000.

ZMODEM is released
On October 14, 1988, Chuck Forsberg releases the ZMODEM specification. The Basement BBS first goes online
The Basement BBS first goes online in November, 1986. The first version of the BBS ran MPP A.M.I.S. BBS Software on an Atari 800XL, 1 Dual Density 1050 disk drive, and a Supra 300AT modem (which was a rebranded MPP 1000E modem). The modem/dial-up version of the Basement BBS was online until September, 1998. It then returned as an Internet telnet only BBS on July 4, 2017. Its telnet address is base
