Albert
AtariAge will be present at the upcoming Oklahoma Video Game Expo, taking place June 18th at the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We'll have some new homebrew games to sell for the Atari 2600 and ColecoVision, demos of games in development for the Atari 2600 and 5200, copies of the new book The Encyclopedia of Game.Machines (not yet available in the US), and more! Several homebrew authors, including Andrew Davie (all the way from Australia!), Billy Eno, and Scott Huggins will be at the AtariAge booth, demonstrating their latest games and giving you an opportunity to meet and talk with them. There will also be tournaments for the new homebrew releases Go Fish! and Warring Worms: The Worm (Re)Turns! To see what we have in store for the show, we've created a few pages titled AtariAge at OVGE 2005. And you can learn more about the show by visiting the Oklahoma Video Game Expo site. Hope to see many of you there!

+Nathan Strum
Rock Paper Scissors for the 2600! Excellent! There was an online version of this somewhere a few years ago that I wasted a great deal of time playing. Yes, I'm serious. No, I don't have a life. Albert
We'll have two additional demos at the show: Man Goes Down (horribly addictive game!) and David Galloway's (djmips) improved Amiga Boing Demo, which, if you're a fan of the Amiga, you'll love. I've updated the following page: AtariAge at OVGE 2005: Game Demos ..Al

Albert
How about cd-w's Jetman and Hunchy? Or batari's Rocket Command and Zirconium? 871122 Any of those are possibilities, just haven't spoken with the individual authors. I'd be glad to demo any of these games at the show. ..Al
swiftj
So does this mean no more AGE? I sure loved the first one - and only blocks from my home! Although I suppose I can handle the drive....
Albert
So does this mean no more AGE? I sure loved the first one - and only blocks from my home! Although I suppose I can handle the drive.... 871317 There will be no AGE this year. There is a bit show up in Dallas this August, though, America's Video Game Expo. As for OVGE, it's about a seven hour drive from Austin, maybe eight depending on how much traffic you hit along the way. Assuming I'm not misremembering from the last two years I've driven up there. ..Al
SteveW
Are you sure about that? Because from Dallas to Austin, it took me slightly less than 4 hours. From Dallas to Tulsa, it took me 5 hours. (Of course, I ended up getting a little lost on the trip to Tulsa last year ) Albert, can you do me a favor? I've wanted to buy a copy of Protector: SE (with Native CD) for a while, but I never get around to ordering it online or by mail. Can you bring a copy with you for the Atari Age table? I'd really appreciate it.

(Of course, I ended up getting a little lost on the trip to Tulsa last year ) Only takes me three hours to get up to Dallas. Don't remember how far it is from Dallas to Tulsa. I'm pretty sure it didn't take me longer than 8 hours total. Albert, can you do me a favor? +-^CrossBow^-
I can get from Tulsa to Dallas easily in 4.5 hours. I know, because I did it once almost 10 years ago in an old '92 Escort Wagon! It can be done in less than 5 hours. As for Austin to Dallas, I wouldn't know since I haven't ever made that trip. But I do remember it took like 5 hours from Houston to Dallas in a U-Haul, that was fun...

They have been stopping drivers in Calera, with a speed limit of 55, for a few miles. Once you pass the Choctaw Casino, you can put the pedal to the metal. +-^CrossBow^-
You would think that...but I got popped by OHP on a drive to McAlester for a service call some time back. I had the fuzz buster and knew all their spots. But I never counted on a light blue Cessna in the sky... Dang eye in the sky...
Flack
OKC to Tulsa is like 110 miles if you take the turnpike which is the way I go ... lots of wide open road and 10 over is no big deal. Dallas is about 3.5 hours from here, so yeah, I'd say 4.5 to 5 hours is a reasonable estimate. I can't give a good estimate from here to Austin. The only time I've done that drive (to pick up a Heavy Barrel arcade cabinet) turned out to be on OU/Texas weekend. Any plans I had of making good time were foiled by the 2 hours I spent parked on I-35 somewhere near Dallas. That was a fun trip, btw. The kid who sold me the cab gave me horrible directions. We had to use my GPS to find the house. It poured down rain the whole time, so we had to stop at a Lowes and get tarps and ropes. Then when we got to the house, the kid turned out to be 17 and his parents had no idea that he was selling (or had already sold!) the cabinet online. They were NOT happy. Always an adventure ... pmpddytim
Who is bringing Lynx stuff and who wants to play some multiplayer? I've never gotten to play any multiplayer so I'm really looking forward to it! Tell me what your name tag is gonna say so I can look for you. -Tim
SteveW
Well, I don't want to do what happened last year, bringing my Lynx and all my games, and nobody bothering to set up a tournament..... I guess I could do it one more time. I don't know where my Comlynx cables are, though. But I'll bring all my decent multiplayer games with me. Albert
I've just updated the New Homebrew Games and Game Demos pages with several additions! Scott Huggins will be showing off another ColecoVision project he's almost finished with, a port of the arcade game Spectar. Chris Walton (cd-w) and Fred Quimby (batari) are allowing us to showcase their 2005 Minigame Multicart, featuring the games Hunchy, Jetman, Nightrider, Zirconium, and Rocket Command. And finally, the renamed Double Breakout, now to be known as Deflektor Kollection, will return again for the ColecoVision at OVGE. You can learn more by visiting these pages: AtariAge @ OVGE: New Homebrew Games AtariAge @ OVGE: Game Demos Look forward to seeing everyone there! ..Al
