+Allan
Wanted: Dead Atari 1027 printer or just the printer head from a 1027. Thanks, Allan Edited March 1, 2007 by Allan
Gunstar
I just saw this, wish I could help, but I have the same problem, I need a new head, all the rubber dry rotted and the rubber letters/characters fell off. Otherwise I'd give you mine just for the sake of saving one of them! I'm pretty sure that Best E. has the part you are looking for though, I looked into it once myself, as I recall I decided to against ordering becuase of the high price of parts. the complete printer head with the rubber character band is $25. my dilema was that I could get another working 1027 for about that price or maybe even less. But for posterity's sake I'll probably buy the head and get it up and running again eventually. After all, we're not talking dot-matrix here; letter quality printers can still be useful for important documents even today. it may be a bit conservatively boring, with only one font and character size, but that's best for some documents. Almost Rice
Wanted: Dead Atari 1027 printer or just the printer head from a 1027. Ask metalguy66, he just ripped a 1027 apart for the case. I think it was a working 1027 that he took off all the ICs and gave me the SIO ports. If he still has the mechanism, I am sure he wont mind shipping it. I think he might have trashed the remainder of the printer since he did salvage parts off of it.
