Must have DreamCast Games?

Recommended Posts

All the sports games are pretty good and the 2k ones can be picked up cheap at your local Best Buy. I heard Crazy Taxi is really good and I heard Test Drive Lemans has great graphics. Personally my favorite game for it is Gauntlet Legends. Well that's just about all I know, I hope it helps you somehow. :|

Gauntlet Legends is good, but short.

Crazy Taxi is great fun, avoid CT 2.

Soul Calibur is probably the best 3D fighter of all time.

Marvel vs Capcom is the best 2D fighter.

Chu-Chu Rocket is a damn good party game.

I won CHu Chu Rocket. I got that game and a VMU memory card (brand new) for only $14.99!!!!! Good deal right. Maybe i should figure out how to play that game

Revolt is good.

but there are a lot that I have that I think are great that I haven't heard mention here yet;

Racers:

Test Drive Lemans

Vanishing Point

F1 World grand prix

Tokyo Extreme Racing 2

Star Wars Episode I

4x4 EVO

4Wheel Thunder

FPS:

Soldier of Fortune

Spec Ops: Omega Squad

Hidden&Dangerous

QuakeDC (shareware)

Sports:

NHL 2k1/2

NFL 2K1/2

World Series 2k1/2(?)

Virtua Tennis

Adventure:

Dragon Riders: Chronicals of Pern (if your a fan of the books)

Draconus: Cult of the Worm (fantastic!)

Omikron: The Nomad Soul

Rayman 2

Machines:

Wild Metal

Alien Front Online

Gundam Side story

Airforce Delta

Toy Commander

I only recently doubled my collection to a total of about 3 dozen though, out of about 250 US releases and hundreds of Japanese and Euro titles...

BUT, I also sold off a lot that I got I didn't personally find too good:

WWF Wrestling (this was a gift, I'd never buy a Wrestling game)

Jet Set Radio (just didn't do it for me, also a gift)

Dave Mirra BMX (this was alright, but I wanted something else, so I sold it)

Hydro Thunder

SuperCross 2000 (or something like that, ok, but not great)

Flag to Flag racing (I have F1 now)

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (big disappointment, good graphics, very hard, I still have it, but never play)

Tomb Raider Last Revelation (same old, same old)

Shadow Man (N64/PS1 port and it shows)

Nightmare Creatures 2 (ps1 port with few enhancements, sick fun)

Army Men Sarges Heroes (another PS1/N64 port)

For fighters, you can't go wrong. I suggest the following:

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike

Tekken 3 Bleemcast!

Capcom vs SNK 2 (Import)

Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves

Last Blade 2

King of Fighters 99 Dream Match

Street Fighter Alpha 3

Soul Calibur

Guilty Gear X (Import)

Super Street Fighter 2 X (Import)

Virtua Fighter 3

Yeah, it has alot more, but these are favs of me and others.

If you've got about 100+ hours of your life to kill then I'd recomend Skies of Arcadia. Also worthy of a look:

Shenmue

Crazy Taxi 2

Jet Set Radio

THPS 1 or 2

Virtua Tennis

V-Rally 2: Expert Edition

Sonic Adventure 1 or 2

Stay clear of:

Bangi-o

Pen Pen

Mortal Kombat Gold

Toy Racers

Tomb Raider: Chronicals

Sonic Shuffle

Nomad Soul (even though I love Mr Bowie, this is a dud)

Other than the above everything is pretty good, except those that common sense tells you to stay clear of, such as any cheapy sports titles..

Sonic Adventure 1 or 2

I found the controls on Sonic Adventure to be absolutely appauling, but the worst point came early when I hit some sort of energy conduit that took control of the character (I think I was playing Tails). It was obviously the correct way to go, but it kept dumping me out of the level.

One thing I have enjoyed is the Atari 2600 emulator for the DC. I came second in the Thrust+ compo using it. Sound's a little iffy and the colours may not be perfect, but everything else is fine.

Watch out or you just might end up in search of all 250ish Dreamcast games made like... um... some of us

Here are some games that I think are awesome that you should definitely go out and get (or, for some of them pick them up at the GOAT Store for cheaper: :D )

Atari Anniversary Edition -- You've got 12 of the best Atari arcade games, and you've got tons of extras in the ways of interviews with Nolan Bushnell and other greats. A real winner!

Sega Smash Pack V. 1 -- On this one, you've got 12 classic Sega games including Phantasy Star, Sonic, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage 2 and more. Excellent deal!

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 -- I don't think that I will ever get enough of this game. It is so absolutely astounding both graphically and gameplay wise that... wow.

Mr. Driller -- What a fun little arcade game! A complete blast to play (relatively hard to find though)

Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness -- I guess I'm into naming most of the updates that I like for this message. This is my favorite of them all. A great addition to the Pac-Man universe, although horribly easy.

Gauntlet Legends -- Gauntlet is one of those ageless games, and it is a game that I get together with a bunch of friends and play. Another awesome, awesome game.

That's about all that I can think of for now, at least when I'm in an arcady mood. I'll come back when I'm in a fighting or platformer mood later maybe and come up with 20 more :)

Yes the Dreamcast is THE FIGHTING SYSTEM.

If you want two good games, that WILL be worth some money too, pick up Bangai-O and Record of Lodoss War(based off the anime). Both games are tons of fun and only 10,000 copies of each were made! Also if you like good old 2d shooters,Mars Matrix from Capcom is also a sweet game.

DC! :D :ponder: 8)

V-Rally 2! I've got to get this game! Thanks for reminding me Atarinvader! I rented Sega Rally 2 once, and it was o.k., but I have heard V-Rally was very good. Is this a PS1/ N64 sequel? Or is there an original on the DC too?
