The Wii is a fad argument

The screen is just horrible, it really is creamed spinach color. I think it's worse than the GBA's.

 

If I was a kid with money in 1991, I would have bought the GG.

 

I just guess Nintendo is not aiming at me as a gamer with the Wii.

People said the Wii was a fad before it launched. People said the Wii was a fad a few months after it launched. They said it was a fad a year later. They say it's a fad now, and they'll still be saying it's a fad two years from now. People have a preconceived notion of what the Wii is supposed to be, and whatever happens, whatever games come out, whatever huge number of systems or games sell, they won't see it. It's a console, and a darn successful one at that. Software - including 3rd party software - is selling, and plenty of new games are in the works. Now, if you really like racing sims and RPGs there's not a lot there for you. Fair enough. Does that make it a bad console, or a failure or a fad? I would say no. Of course I hope 3rd parties start stepping up on Wii, but if I only had a 360 (or ps3) I'd be missing out on a lot of great stuff.
