End of an era?

I have an ebay search for Atari merchandise. It's not perfect, but it's good. Lately, the items returned by this query has been dropping off. Tonight, there are only two pages -- down from a peak of seven.

 

Is it possible that every attic has been emptied? Do we have to wait for a generation of Atarians to die off before we can restock?

 

I've always taken an endless supply of Atari hardware for granted, but I'm starting to wonder if that was a mistake. Is anyone else noticing this? Are you concerned? I wonder how B&C's inventories are holding up...

Yup. It seems that some are stockpiling the equipment in the hopes of releasing it (nonfunctional) to the public all at once at noon on 23-jul-2029. Bid now!

I've noticed this as well. The available ST goods seem to be thinning out as well.

All of the thrift stores around here dried up 5-10 years ago. I used to get some great stuff from them.

Part of it is Summer Time as well. A lot of folks who would be considered casual sellers are outdoors and not in front of the computer as much. It happens every summer. (As for me I will stay huddled inside with my Atari 800XL and Mega ST until that shiny orb in the sky goes away behind the comforting grey clouds of fall and winter)

Does that mean that prices for Atari kit/gear (irrespective/regardless of Atari flavour) will come down to non ebay prices (i.e. human/reasonable prices)
