If you can pick three games what 3 would you pick?

Tunnel Runner

Escape from the Mindmaster

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I woulda said escape also, but there aren't any cassettes stranded with me.

Hmmm, do three Xonox double enders count? I can't pick just three carts, but off the top of my head I'd say Ghost Manor/Spike's Peak, Motocross Racer/Tomarc, and a Supercharger I can load from my PSP. :D

Out of those, I'd say that I'd prefer Dragonstomper, Ghost Manor, and Escape. If I'm stuck with cart only, I'll take Ghost Manor, Spike's Peak, and Motocross Racer.

Er, wait. There are three blank carts and enough power to run a computer to load them? I'll have a blank Romox cart, a blank Xante cart, and a 64K RAM cart.

This is tough. I'd definitely want carts that have lots of replayability.

Beamrider - might as well start with my favorite game

Backgammon - for the company of the computer opponent. Plus I'll have plenty of time to learn how to play.

Plus one of the following...

Ms. Pacman, EdTris, Casino, Kaboom or Stratogems Deluxe

Alright Guys and Gals here's a question for all of you, your stuck on a miin base with no one else but an atari 2600, now there's three blank carts.

You also have enough power in the computer gaming system and you could only pick three games, what would you pick?

1) Defender

2) Adventure

3) Night Stalker

Gotta give me props for creativity on the question, eh

what is a 'miin base' ?

if it's 'moon base' i sure I hope I have air and that it's not this one:

or this one

so what three 2600 games would i play whilst using the last of my oxygen supply...

space master x-7 (fast,) private eye (never could get very far in this game, so I'd finally have time to try) and cabbage patch kids (cause I haven't played it yet, so I'd have something new to play.)

I'm really surprised at how many people have included Adventure. It's a swell game and all, and sure gets a lot of well-deserved love. My opinion would be that it would get a little boring if you only had three games, but hey, that's just me.

I'm not sure what my 3 would be yet, but they'd surely be homebrews. Heck, give me any three random homebrews and I'd be set.

Okay, ha ha, you got me. I don't consider the first two to be real homebrews, they were a scam to take advantage of the "market" (or just a bad idea gone wrong), and I don't even know what the third one is. Give me any three random GOOD homebrews! :)

Fun idea. I like this. My three selections would be based on criterias such as replay value, depth of gameplay and variety between the titles.

1) Adventure

I think this is near universally accepted as a valuable game with much to squeeze out of.

2) Stargate (Defender 2)

Surprisingly good port. I guess Atari felt they got their ass handed to them with Activision's Chopper Command. Such pure game mechanics, so damn tough to play and master.

3) Lady Bug

The thinking man's Pac-Man. This homebrew looks so comfortable on the 2600, like it was always meant to be. The blocky shapes do not bother me in the slightest. Funny how those revolving doors add so much to the game.

Some other titles I would sorely miss:

Thrust Platinum

Joust

River Raid

Jr. Pac-Man

Solaris

Megamania

Too bad this isn't an Atari 8-bit or C64 desert island scenario. There are many more titles with deep, long-lasting gameplay on those two. The VCS is better for short, high intensity spurts of arcade action.
