Omegamatrix
Looks good, Rom. I'm glad you removed those annoying read only attributes. If I could make one minor suggestion it would be to not double up the folders. What I mean is when I unzip your file I find a folder within a folder. If you go CTRL A to select all the files and then right click send to a zip file it won't do this. It just saves everyone having to move the folder out of the folder, and delete the empty one. There was a lot of work done to this newest verision of the rom set thanks to the like of Nukey (who did the lions share of work), Tempest, Thomas, Hornpipe2, Eckhard, Mitch, Alex_79, of course Rom Hunter himself, and everyone else who I might have unintentionally overlooked. Besides the renaming of some roms here's the deal: Roms deleted from V3 (all these are listed with the V3 names) 2 Pak Special Black - Challenge, Surfing (1990) (HES) (771-333) (PAL) [a].bin 2 Pak Special Dark Blue - Wall Defender, Planet Patrol (1990) (HES) (0701-406) (PAL) [a].bin 2 Pak Special Light Green - Hoppy, Alien Force (1992) (HES) (PAL) [a].bin 2 Pak Special Red - Motocross, Boom Bang (1990) (HES) (0701-157) (PAL) [a].bin 2 Pak Special Yellow - Star Warrior, Frogger (1990) (HES) (771-422) (PAL) [a1].bin 2 Pak Special Yellow - Star Warrior, Frogger (1990) (HES) (771-422) (PAL) [a2].bin Action Man - Action Force (AKA G.I. Omegamatrix
Rom, these 43 new roms were all added from the 208 in 1 multicart. Sourcing is very important in multicart / muticart consoles. The 208 in 1 cart is unique as it is the largest old era 2600 multicart, and it was completely dumped. Since none of those above roms have ever been dumped before, I would suggest keeping them sourced, and then reverting back to unknown (individually) if they are found on another cart. It also really helps to identify an original company if the pirate source is intact. I might be able to tell you what rom came before what rom through disassembly and analysis, but if we don't know where the pirates come from then we can't build off the data. I'm not saying we should do this for every pirate cart, but when it is a huge multicart, yes. How about something like this: Atlantis (Hack) (208 in 1 cart) (PAL) [a].bin Bank Heist (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Basic Math (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Basketball (Hack) (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Basketball (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Bowling (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Bridge (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Canyon Bomber (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Carnival (Hack) (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Challenge (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Checkers (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Chopper Command (Hack) (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Commando Raid (208 in 1 cart) (PAL) [a].bin Donkey Kong (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Fantastic Voyage (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Flag Capture (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Football (208 in 1 cart) (PAL).bin Galatic (AKA Challenge of.... Rom Hunter
I will, Jeff. Special thanks go to Nukey Shay, who examined every dubious ROM and put a lot of energy in this. Without his work, the collection wouldn't be as clean as it is now. Thanks again, Nukey!

Rom Hunter
Besides the renaming of some roms... Quite a lot I would say. Although this isn't noticable at first sight, I added & corrected a lot of information (model numbers, programmers, release dates, etc.)

Hornpipe2
Looks good, Rom. I'm glad you removed those annoying read only attributes. If I could make one minor suggestion it would be to not double up the folders. What I mean is when I unzip your file I find a folder within a folder. If you go CTRL A to select all the files and then right click send to a zip file it won't do this. It just saves everyone having to move the folder out of the folder, and delete the empty one. I disagree. Zipping up a folder works great for me, because on Linux I always use commandline tools to unzip/unrar/untar/etc, and so without the top-level directory it would throw 1784 files on my desktop or cwd. Please leave it as-is! Thanks to everyone for your hard work on this collection! I know so much effort went into this.

Hornpipe2
One other thing I wanted to throw out there: Surf's Up [a] is not playable - the bankswitch locations are backwards so the thing never starts. Maybe the two halves of the ROM were somehow put together in the wrong order?
Rom Hunter
According to Nukey: Surf's Up [a] This game is unplayable (only 1 byte differs). When the program is in the 2nd bank, the LSB of the bankswitch instruction to go back to the first bank is set to the wrong hotspot. The program becomes trapped...endlessly looping the intro screens and triggering the wrong hotspot. I dunno if the game exists out there someplace, but it is virtually unplayable. Maybe as some kind of demo to show off the intro screens? Your call if you want to remove it. The change is too specific to be chalked up as a bad dump IMO. It could be a demo version (after all, the game was still in the prototype phase) , so I decided to leave it in.

CGQuarterly
I have a question, and maybe it is a general ROM question and not about this collection in particular. Why are there duplicate titles like this: Activision Decathalon, The(...).bin Activision Decathalon, The(...)[fixed].bin What is the difference between these two files? If I want to play this game, which of these should I load? Thanks, and thanks for putting this collection together. Chris
