nofrills100
Wondering how many spectravision/video carts have the letter 'c' after their code - found either on the side of the box or bottom right of the label - see attached pics. And if yours does - did you get it in Canada? Edited December 20, 2009 by nofrills100
AtariLeaf
My Gashog just says "SA 21" on it. I did get mine here in Canada via a Kijiji ad a few weeks ago.

I don't have my scanner hooked up or I'd post a pic. I posted a video of it here -> you can't read the letting but its the regular black lettering in the corner in question. All Spectra' carts i know of have codes that start with SA and have a three digit number... like: Gangster Alley SA201 Planet Patrol SA202 Cross Force SA203 Tapeworm SA204 China Syndrome SA205 Nexar SA206 Master Builder SA210 Mangia SA212 Gas Hog SA217 Bumper Bash SA218 & I'm guessing Chase the Chuck Wagon is somewhere in there... & the 5 German releases perhaps too? & then there's the unreleased Glactic Tactic... so yeah i'd say scuffed off given the condition of the cart... but it is hard to see on a vid. But perhaps someone else will tell us they have one with SA21?!

Cheers Tom That's for the game label itself. I don't have many boxed games. Can do a pic later when I get home.
zylon
The one on the right is the normal green issue. The one on the left is the blue one. They both have the same numbers but the blue one has Spectravideo International in fine print above the Spectravideo logo. I couldn't get a good pic of that part.

Rom Hunter
Interesting. I've never seen that one before. Could you make a scan of the blue version for the database? Also, is it PAL?
zylon
I believe it's region free since it works on every system I've tried. Kind of like the Activision International games I see from time to time. Probably intended for PAL though. I have no idea how to do scans or even how to get a better pic. What I've posted is probably the extent of my computer abilities. Nuts & bolts I understand. Theoretical physics? No.
zylon
The Tapeworm variant got the best of my curiosity so I went and looked at every single one Spectra gane I have. I've found that there are most likely 3 variants to each title. 1: normal Spectravision with no fine print above logo 2: Spectravision with international fine print above logo but colors normal 3: Spectravideo may or may not have different colors(ex. Tapeworm does, Cross Force doesn't)

Tapeworm does, Cross Force doesn't) will have a look at mine also ok... so every single Spectravision/video cart I own (about 30) has the international fine print on the top (with the exception of Chase the Chuck Wagon). I thought one didn't - but it had worn away. Are you sure the green Tape Worm doesn't have a faint print on it? And I also discovered another Gas Hog SA217C - though this time it was a CIB Piraten Schiff - so unless it was substituted into the box for a missing one (and i doubt it because it was in mint condition concurring with spending its life in a box) - I am coming to the conclusion that it doesn't stand for 'Canada'. infact I was wondering if it has something to do with a Spectravision club... but I can't remember how I came to this conclusion so i'll get back to that theory when it comes to me. Rom Hunter
The first two Nexar scans on this page are another variation: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-challenge-of-nexar-_7905.html And IIRC I a have a picture of a rare and funky looking Spectravideo end label as well. Will look it up for you. In the meantime, enjoy this one: http://www.atarimania.com/catalog-atari-spectravideo-vol-ii-11-83_286_2.html I just added it for your interest. Yep, they were released for the 2800 as well. Nice stickered boxes, like the one on the third picture: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-cross-force_16706.html Piraten Schiff is a PAL release. Is that second SA217C cart PAL (green surface) or NTSC (purple surface)? Your club theory seems a bit too far fetched to me. So aside from the Ad and the Nexar box - has there ever been any other SpectraV. 2800 boxes found?
