VectorGamer
Arcade Tail Gunner 45 mins Canyon Bomber 5 mins Finally moved ahead of Mruzcek for #2 on Tail Gunner. Scored 2300 which is 200 shy of the record. Score submitted today so it hasn't been verified yet. The record was set only about six months ago so there's at least someone like me that is still trying to set records on these old, obscure games...

StanJr
As promised: Final Fantasy (NES) 1.5 hours Made an unprecedented run at the Floater last night, kicked the Eye in the eye and snagged that bad boy, got out with only one casualty and now am flying about in my recently unearthed air ship! To Gaia and the Castle of Ordeal!

+thegoldenband
Times for Monday - Wednesday: Sega Genesis: World of Illusion - 102 min. (beat w/ Mickey+Donald) Sword of Vermilion - 272 min. NES: Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril (demo) - 20 min. Brief notes: Sword of Vermilion - I'm probably about halfway through this title, and I have to say that of all the console RPGs of its era that I've played, it's among the least inspired. Random encounters are way too frequent, the action-style combat is dull and awkward, boss fights are anticlimactic, and the gameplay feels slow and plodding. When I play a RPG, I want the "Fast" text display to be basically instantaneous, not to be the same as most games' "Medium" setting! It's buggy, too -- after winning a boss fight in a dungeon, I suddenly ended up stuck inside solid rock outdoors, and it was only by sheer luck that I happened to have a teleport item on me. I'm looking forward to being done with this one, though playing on the Nomad means that I can at least multitask (play between appointments, while watching TV, etc.). Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril - This is the first new published game for NES in almost 15 years! The ROM for the full game isn't publicly available, but a demo of one level has been released. It's a lot of fun, though completely unforgiving. It plays a bit like a cross between Mega Man, Ufouria, and Legacy of the Wizard. Nice music, too.
