Unknown if this was a glitch or intended effect (because it is easily altered so it doesn't happen ala Jungle Hunt). The first one I killed in the second level gave me 300! Depends on how many you've killed consecutively (<4=100,4+=200) and whether you struck when it's jaws are open (add 100 to previous amount).
