Divya16
Game closes on Sunday 26th September 10am BST Where is BST? England. I guess it's 5 hours more than East Coast of USA. I thought England was GMT? Anyway, latest score on Preppie 2... 8980. (Thanks for pointing out the better image.) You know the British, they don't want to use "Greenwich" as a standard for their time.

atariksi
Ok a bit better I didn't see any files that give you more than 3 men. I see you added the bonus items. But I'm stuck in North Jersey in a relative's house after I get two flat tires a couple of days ago. I guess spares don't help if there's only one of them. I got the car towed to my relative's house but can't find anybody that carries Volkwagen 225/45R1790H tires; Pepboys is out of stock, Sears charging $379 for two tires; checking out other places still so until I get home, my scores will be static. Anyone know a cheap place to get tires, let me know (close to North Jersey). sorry, dont know anything in north jersey, but down in south jersey i do... and if you come down here, you can even use my 800XL to play some HSC... (i am 10mins south of Atlantic City) sloopy. I do sometimes come near Atlantic City, but would have been impossible with two flats. I paid $254 for two tires installed at FireStone. How much do they go for there installed? Meanwhile I have been playing Ms. Pac-man yesterday and Moon Patrol today so I'll be back playing Preppies the next few days. Just a quick go on Preppie II:

Divya16
Improved on Preppie II: 53,250! Preppie: 28,020! (Level 9 seems easier than level 8.) Combined total is now: 81,270! Could be that 9 is easier than 8 given that 7 is easier than 6. I spent a ton of time trying to pass 6 and 7 took very little time. I am now stuck on 8. However, the score is basically the same. It depends on what stage of the level you die at since you restart that level and keep the score accumulated. Bad collisions on top there with that "poison water". You can land on it with few pixels overlap but if your there and touch even one pixel or sometimes walking just next to it kills you. Then sometimes you are right on the golf ball and it doesn't pick it up. The hardest part of levels 6+ is landing on the crocodiles when coming back since the timing is needed and there is that daddu (frog) hovering in the area. Add to this the tearing on the top rows and I'm getting sick of this game. Game is a rip-off from Frogger with just minor changes and controls aren't so great either pressing button and moving stick like Atari 5200 frogger. C- rating from me. If I keep playing this, I may need to relearn to play Frogger. I'm going to spend time on Preppie II instead.

Major croaking cloak failure, my joystick sucks, it's definitely not me Had another 22K go on Preppie 1, but level 8 causes too much pressure and I start making crazy jumps. So deteacher could be in for some serious points Don't despair divya, looks like we'll get some shooting action in the next game (I did load the vote a bit with shooters ... my bad )

If I can get through level 6 without losing a man, then I get close to 24K or so. 53K is definitely do-able on Preppie II if I find the time to play more as I keep increasing my score everytime I play unlike Preppie I. atariksi
I can't seem to do better on either of my high scores. I keep getting into the 13,000 range in Preppie II. You have to look at doors and try to switch them so that more frogs are shut-off from you. Also note that all frogs head your way so if you have two ways out or a door, you get them towards you and head for the other side of the screen. That helps to fill up the screen with "caramel" without using much cloak which you may need for other areas of the screen or later.

And one more hint, the frogs are dumb so even if you are behind a wall, they still head toward you. This is unlike Ms. Pac-man where they seem to plan together and strategize more to get you. You'll be hearing from the frogs' lawyers Another trick is to pop out of the door as this resets the frogs to their starting positions, you can then nip in and do the middle bits :!:

Too fast. So I usually reserve that trick for the first maze. I've got to remember that one for the final maze each time. That'll help. Thanks. Do you all try to finish each screen entirely at once, or do you leave and then come back later? Do you all try to finish each screen entirely at once, or do you leave and then come back later? I usually leave the screen partially done in early levels (1..3) since if I sense trouble I exit the screen and start finishing the next one. Just for those interested, the score is 10 points for each block you cover with "caramel" in level 1, 20 points in level 2, 30 points in level 3, etc. In Preppie I, each new row you come to is 10 points in level 1, 20 points in level 2, 30 points in level 3, etc. The maximum bonus for the cloak is the same as the total number of blocks in the level that you can traverse-- 237*10L where L is the level #. So maximum score for level 1 is 237*10(1)+237*10(1) = 4740.

I did get the maximum score for first two levels: 4740 and then 14220 but then had to use cloak.
+therealbountybob
I'm failing abysmally at both games I concentrate for ages then go on Preppie killing spree especially in P2 just when he's just starting to move fast enough. In P2 I try and not leave anything behind as I figure you'd probably get cornered by a frog on the bottom screen and wish you didn't have to escape. I must learn to use the cloak more as I'm treating it like Mr Crabs' treats his money... "ah me precious money" Table Time! Preppie! That broken door in P2 on PAL is a fair handicap vs NTSC (although both this game could do with being a tad faster) so don't fix that door! May be other games should adopt this feature - ok one for the expertskis Any theories on why that the door doesn't work - something to do with the VBI/timings The right hand door just makes a noise and flickers but doesn't move, you can go through it though. p.s. liking 'The GasLight Anthem' on radio as I type
