sloopy
I just got one off Ebay for about $10.50 shipped. It said it was dead so that is not the problem, I'm just trying to figure out why it is dead. When I turn it on it Get no display and I hear a buzzing noise coming from the Atari. Any ideas? have you opened it yet? blown capacitors have been known to give a buzz on occasion... sloopy.
Syfo-Dyas
I'm about to. Is there some way I can tell if a capacitor is blown by looking at it?

Sometimes the electrolytic caps leak or bulge but not always. You can check these with a ohmmeter to see of they charge up properly (removed from the circuit is best) - that's still not necessarily a definitive test but if it doesn't charge up, its bad.
