MegaManFan
The most famous awful example. That could actually pass for a 5200 vs. 2600 screen shot.
Flojomojo
Only if you were squash it into a horizontal configuration. That aspect of the 5200 really bugged me --- then and now.

MegaManFan
Only if you were squash it into a horizontal configuration. That aspect of the 5200 really bugged me --- then and now. I know what you mean, but given how much more it looks, sounds, and PLAYS like the original compared to the 2600 version, it's still a quantum leap ahead. And for the best home version ever, I'll probably stick to the Commodore 64 anyway.
Flojomojo
Gunfight looks very cool, Manuel, thanks for the advertising! The official page link from the AtariAge entry seems to be down though. What's up? I want to play this now.

Flojomojo
Thanks Albert: You have this listed as the "official site." http://home.arcor.de/cybergoth/epyx/gunfight2600.html It returns a 404. If you change it to this page, all will be well. http://home.arcor.de/cybergoth/xype/gunfight2600.html Thanks for keeping on top of this. You run a wonderful site. NE146
ok while we're one going on the more obscure ones. Here's a couple Espial Reactor Springer Roc' n Rope Strategy X Up 'n Down Omega Race
Flojomojo
Whoa, you got me beat for obscurity. I thought Amidar was pretty mainstream (Reactor too! I loved that one). Espial looks cool for a VCS game. Gotta try that one. How did you get the screenshots lined up like that? Edited 2 into 1, I presume? Flojomojo
Twenty years ago, did you imagine that games could look this good? We were saying things like "video refresh rate would never support that kind of detail."
