+therealbountybob
GSB and CTetris both save high scores, you can set the image to R/W if playing on an emulator. CTetris 12,637 Level 9 before I cacked it. GSB 87,100 (so that's 43,550) [edit] CTetris has some very nice scoring touches, basically you get bigger bonuses for clearing 2,3 and 4 lines (plus the cool tune!) also more points for dropping (tip: use the hard drop as down or set the soft drop to down and use the space bar for the hard drop)
+orpheuswaking
OY!!! Scoring 1200, c'mon at least get to screen 5 when the game gets more interesting (The first 3 screens are really simplified) But I don't have the patience to get off of screen one, it just feels laggy when you jump and move. Fastest I could make it without learning to program in assembler... just started that (eek) so next game in about 10 years (collective sighs of relief)... when you jump keep/hold the stick in the direction, don't just press/tap it... play the whole game this way; hold the stick permanently in a direction unless you want to stop TRBB I am in no way denigrating your accomplishments with this game... It's a polished piece, I just don't like playing it
+Philsan
GSB is a very good game. I only don't like the lenght of death sequence, in particular when the nice animations are over: you hear strange sounds, then there is another delay without sounds and then finaly you can continue. I would remove those two unnecessary parts (five seconds wasted!). BTW, 6200 points. Tetris, 3158 points.

Thanks Fres, looks like you managed a few screens I based the font on one I liked in one of synthpopaloozas'(?) games but 'chunkified' (yes that is a word ) it using Envision. I'm enjoying watching the last series of the Cleveland show not as funny but still amusing enough There's tips for GSB in the docs on the Gwobby Web Site and on the post here on AtariAge. With over 100 downloads of this version I'm hoping a couple more players might join the HSC Looks like I need to have another bash at level 5 of TDF2 later

atariron82
I'm really liking Gwobby Strikes Back! So who programmed this thing anyways.. ? It's a downright neat bit of coding(AtariBASIC or 6502-Assembler?) I sense elements of Jumpman Jr., Montezuma's Revenge, and maybe some Miner2049er(the ZAPPY acid pits!). Things to watch out for: i) running out of 'gas' or underestimating a jump--you plummet straight down . ii) a shocking experience when going for the bonus goody(how cruel!... ) iii) that deadly floating 'minus-sign' thing that breaks off the head of that pesty levitating bloke, from lv.4 on-- Things I like: i) the random nature of the bonus goodys (minus the zapper of course) ii) getting an extra man as a bonus--sometimes twice in a row!! iii) the clever and varying off-the-wall death scene animations iv) the pixel-gripping JMJr. style jumping (once I learned how to use it to advantage) Still sussing out level 4: 27,300 CTetris so far: 4,069 (lv 4) Dreadnaught Factor II is an exercise in both pain and patience. Harsh language has only gotten me this far: Lev- score (dist.) 1- 1585 (53) 2- 3048 (42) 3- 4463 (36) 4- 5578 (0-) Tot-14,674(131)

Thanks atariron82 you just made my day (and it's only 11:48, I must get off the forum and do something... play Atari perhaps ) The game's written in Turbo BASIC, there are a few more suprises in store and a few other things covered by "watch out for the strange side effects" of the rings of cwaddilore (hope I spelt that correcly or young Gwobby will be cross - Hey are you out there!) p.s. If you're quick and shoot a baddie it breaks your fall, useful on the higher levels p.p.s That "pesky levitating bloke" is Evil Emperor Nyorb and he will be addressed as such or you will receive a visit from the Drogs (his henchmen)
