phaxda
Man, I wish your SA would talk to my SA. NES games here are 10 times that. $5 apiece, no matter what. Not even worth it on the half-price days. Picked up the following games at SA yesterday for $.50 each:NES: Mickey Mouscapade SMB3 SMB/DH (x2) Rally Bike Exitebike (One of my favorites, yet I haven't had it since I had my original NES) Megadrive: Sonic 2 EA Sports Double Header John Madden Football/ EA Hockey Don't ask me how the European Megadrive carts ended up in a SA in northern Michigan. Wester
Believe me, mine can have it's days too, I just got lucky with who was pricing that day. Last week there was a Flashback 2 for $30.50, amazingly it sold!!!
MFoolsRun
So here's a little story: I hit a Goodwill on my way home today. This one never has anything, but I keep checking it for some reason. As usual there was nothing in the case and nothing on the electronics shelves. As I was walking out I half-jokingly asked a guy I presume to be a manager of some sort, "there aren't any videogames in back that haven't made it out yet, are there?" "What are you looking for?" He asked. "Video games, old Nintendo stuff" "No, nothing like that" "Okay, thanks" and I started walking away. "We have one Atari thing that came in" Not wanting to sound too excited, it could be a Combat cart, "I'd be interested in seeing it" So I followed him to the back room door. He came back out a minute or two later with a little gray padded case with "Atari Lynx" printed on it. Still, not wanting to seem too excited, I opened it up. Inside was a spotless, like-new Lynx and copies of California Games and Hydra. As disinterestedly as possible: "How much?" "I don't know, what's it worth?" Still disinterested "I dunno, about as much as a Gameboy?" I figured this was believable, it being a handheld and all. "What about $4.99?" "Sounds good" So I am now the exceptionally proud owner of a Lynx, two games and a padded official carry case for $4.99. SRGilbert
Well first day out for garage sale season here in Michigan. Hit about 7 or 8 garage sales and 5 thrift strores and the only game related items I found (that I wanted) were a pair of vintage Simon Pocket's still in boxes with the manuals for $3 total. This will go great with the full sized vintage Simon in box that I found last year! Non game stuff of geek interest: A small collection of vintage Detroit newspapers and a Nat Geographic and Time from the week of the 1968 moon landing for $3. Really cool stuff, interesting to read about this when it was so fresh in the minds of the people. Funny how I never thought about the fact the Nixon was president at the time, never put it together. Also, a vintage 1983 Star Trek collectors plate for $5.00, which isn't bad as it looks like it goes for anywhere between $50-$100 online. I'll be keeping though. Sorry man, being from the Sault, I should know better. I should have said Mid-Michigan. For what it's worth, it was crappy and rainy all day today, with snow likely tonight.
