rxd
Does anyone know how to completely, utterly, permanently lock Windows 7 screen resolution to 800x600 60hz? The pc in my Mame cab died so I replaced it with a Windows 7 64 bit pc and it works surprisingly well (a few emulators don't work but there are others i can use instead) except for 1 issue that's driving me nuts. Some games I have think they know better than me and change the screen resolution which causes my monitor to go over range and screws everything up. There was a way to force XP to only allow 1 resolution but I can't find a similar setting in Windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... rxd
Nobody knows how to do this? Or is it that nobody else has this problem? Kind of surprised about this....
VectorGamer
Are the games screwing up XP's screen resolution or do the games themselves in MAME need their resolution changed?
rxd
Mame is fine. I have a bunch of casual pc games by Popcap and Big Fish etc that are doing this. Actually other than Meka completely locking up emulation seems to work surprisingly well. It's just those pop cap/big fish etc games. But some of them were quite popular with my friends. mbd30
Just make sure "switch resolutions to fit" is unchecked in the screen menu.
keilbaca
If you're still having issues, you can force resolutions using MultiRes.
