McKong
Threshold- final score 1,027,00 Rolled it. Went through entire game 3 times to do so. Took some pics of end sequence 2nd time through and took one just after roll showing more lives than at the start. Crossfire- 1550 Definitely won't be playing this one again, it just sucks. Sh*t nice one, hmm and I was thinking that it was quite a tough game!
Vaughan
I wonder if Zylon was playing the 5200 version? The Crossfire certainly looks different. To be honest I can't see how anyone can turn the clock on the version of Threshold I'm playing (for the 800), it's a beast.

As for my C64 ports of non-atari games, I have permission.
Vaughan
Which version are you playing, Zylon? We all seem to be playing the 800 version - are you playing the same one? You know, thinking about it I guess I could set the emulator to play at 50% speed...... nah. Edited August 19, 2011 by Vaughan
McKong
It's a great score no matter what version, wish I could go through games like that
Vaughan
I'm not curious out of any other reason than I can go seek out the other version to compare and contrast it the one I'm playing. I'd probably be no better at it, but it would be good to know about another version out there.

I'd probably be no better at it, but it would be good to know about another version out there. There are two versions, with slightly different graphics. One was released on cart, and one on disk. I don't know why this was done, but it reminds me a little of how two choplifters were released for 800 as well.
+therealbountybob
Well we have been busy Firstly welcome to Vaughan Always nice to see new players. If anyone else is reading this and thinking of joining in please do, don't worry if you are not good at games we encourage all players. Please post scores as you play, it makes things more interesting here We have a few people who haven't got many A8 games so to encourage participation they can play on other formats. There might be a few scoring quirks along the way, but these shouldn't affect things too much overall By now HSCers' should have worked out the following: Crossfire - holding down fire when not moving prevents you moving. Collect the bonus thingys, collect bullets. Lunar Leeper - XL/XE and altirra users boot the Translator disk/ATR and then insert the boot disk/ATR of the game, and press select to load - see post 1. The file versions reset after level 1? Pressing a key starts the game again without waiting for it to return to the title screen. Rescuing men taking them to the edge platforms, regular refueling (& ammo) at the little house. Threshold - pulling down once per ship goes into slow-mo mode, use this on the tougher waves. Anyone got a file version of this game ? Marauder - kill stuff, go through the hole... easy enough! I usually post c64 next to any scores from that, but apparently forgot on 1st post this round. I have cart and disk versions, also have vic-20 cart I'll play tonight. Just about every time I play Threshold, I roll it. Same thing with TI99 Defender. These were taken from a game played today 1 shot before roll and 1 sht after roll. Updated- Threshold(vic-20): 208,500 I think I'll be playing this one much more often. Edited August 20, 2011 by zylon

RKade
My first ever try at this rather enjoyable little game. I'll keep going and see how I do. edit: I like Marauder better but they're both good fun. I'll try again tomorrow. atariron82
Got some new scores! Lunar Leeper- There's a lot more to this game than meets the "EYE"... 15,740 Crossfire- Maximum concentration required, or you're toast! 12,500 Threshold- I may have reached my 'threshold' on this one.. 45,900 Marauder- This one's easy at first, but get's challenging by the 3rd 'moving forcefield' round. 81,
Deteacher
Threshold- I may have reached my 'threshold' on this one.. 45,900 Here's where I keep losing it...because of the awful color scheme. Can't see the enemy's fire. Can someone post the mono version of Threshold? I checked the places in the first post and they're all the color version. Thanks in advance. +therealbountybob
I noticed that. Both games I played I got high scores, the next rounds, significantly lower. Peaked too soon ?! Welcome RKade Managed to improve on Crossfire 7,580 and nearly on Lunar Leeper 17K - think there is more to this game than I first thought, you get lots of points for rescuing the men so it might pay to fly by and save the ones that are going to be chomped soonest. Careful not to end the level by killing all the leapers... DOH! deteacher - think the colour schemes is part of the challenge you can turn the Threshold starfield off but we're not doing that! There might be a bonus point for the best game based puns, so far atariron82 is a shoe in
McKong
Crossfire 21870 1st round 25 shots till the refill appears, 2nd 20, 3rd 15, 4th 10, 5th 5, and 5 from there on... Refill seems to appear in a poistion relative to where your ship is at the time, so get yourself to the middle for a more favourable refill
McKong
I haven't found a version of this that works on my XL yet. I've downloaded the translator but couldn't get any of the ATRs to load properly. I've played the first round!
