Rybags
Yep, well done, I checked it out earlier. Just one thing though, I'd like it to have the option for the instadeath instead of energy like the arcade does.
spookt
Looks great, can't wait to try it tonight. I played the life out of the Amiga version (and often still do). I never realised the arcade had the option of an energy bar. IIRC the Amiga version just killed you as soon as you touched a balloon. Goochman
Does this only run on PAL? Im trying it on NTSC in Altirra 2.8 and the screen starts to jump.
tebe
yes, PAL only http://www.myatari.com/nirdary.html Edited November 14, 2016 by tebe
R4ngerM4n
I miss the graphics header of the demo version...
+therealbountybob
Any way this can be made to run on a 1050 Drive
+davidcalgary29
This is an incredible port -- and I love the in-game music! Any chance for a NTSC conversion?
+CharlieChaplin
Like I already wrote at atarionline, it would be nice to have this game on two 130k disksides... since there are still some atarians left, that use a real 1050 drive.
darwinmac
yes, PAL only http://www.myatari.com/nirdary.html I tried the PAL upgrade after meeting Nir. Unfortunately, in the US, it can be hard to find a monitor compatible with the PAL signal. I have heard good things about the Commodore 1702 monitor for this purpose, but I have not seen it working myself. I am also not thrilled about relying on a 30 year old monitor. For me, I have simply been playing the PAL games on Altirra. Bob C
Mclaneinc
Yep, I know for the hardcore its real hardware only but the experience on Altirra in PAL is so damn close to a real machine its should be as enjoyable as the real thing. Cue people saying they can feel the input lag (which of course there will be but the timing is so slight it really does not affect the play) Oh, forgot to say what a brilliant conversion it is, Pang on the 8bit with great music and graphics, who would have thought it... Congrats to all our super talented programmers out there, you amaze us always.. Paul.. Edited November 15, 2016 by Mclaneinc
jvas
Really well done. Would it be possible to make it multiplayer (or atari run out of resources) ?
Mclaneinc
I noticed a min ago it checks for a VBXE but does it actually use it, I flipped it under altirra a couple of times and saw no difference (well to my tired eyes)

+Stephen
Quite an impressive sprite engine. How many objects can be moving at once?
Kyle22
I see it detects the '816. Any chance of using 816 specific code to save a few cycles to make it NTSC friendly? It plays for a little while with screen flickering / jumping and eventually locks up on NTSC. Edit: If it requires the use of Drac030's 816 OS is fine with me, and I'm sure all other Incognito / U1M users who are stuck in NTSC land and have an '816 will be happy.
