moulinaie
Hello, I have worked again on Color STE and added two important things: - the icons are read from a RSC file, so you can customize it - a sound can be played at startup! To be done: - only TOS 1.62, 1.06 are supported, I want to add TOS 1.4, 1.2, 1.0 (only 4 addresses are needed!). http://youtu.be/P9f7HnwYQVE More infos, download, contact on my page http://gtello.pagesp...fr/colorste.htm Guillaume. Anemos
Looks nice.. congrats. "Better, run it from the AUTO folder, in this case, COLORSTE.RSC and COLORSTE.SND must be copied in the root directory of the boot disk. " question: cant find the"COLORSTE.SND" in to the zip.. Merci Edited February 29, 2012 by Anemos

Merci You're right! I forgot one explanation: Just rename one of the *.SND file as COLORSTE.SND, and that's all. I should have included a README.TXT.... Guillaume. No no,, take for example "THAMES.SND" and rename it as "COLORSTE.SND", then you'll get the sound! Guillaume.

Charlie_
You can click on a users name and that will bring you to their profile page. Then click send a message. The ZIP has been sent! Thanks again. Guillaume.

Got the zip and I'll try it in a couple hours after work.

moulinaie
Interesting stuff here guys - looking forward to your results. For now, very poor results on the TOS 1.04! Only some elements of the window are turned into color. Well, a part is working !! Ninja asked me for a MegaSTE version. IT ALREADY EXISTS !!! I have started a work called Color_MSTE long ago. Then, Ronald Anderson improved it a lot and he called it COLORTOS. Its program is supposed to work on Mste with TOS 2.06 and on TT with TOS 3.05/3.06. I have patched his COLORTOS (taking back his work...!!!) to add compatibility for TOS 2.05 but removing one TT tos... You'll find it on my web page (bottom of it), it features color icons, 3D effect on the window elements and a great compatibility with other patches (NVDI etc...): http://gtello.pagesperso-orange.fr/mste_e.htm Have fun! moulinaie
Interesting stuff here guys - looking forward to your results. Hi DarkLord! Have you got a machine with TOS 1.02 ??? I have a beta version for this system. Guillaume.
moulinaie
Hi all, I need testers for TOS versions 1.00, 1.02 and 1.04 for COLORSTE. Unzip the file into a common folder, and run COLORSTE.PRG directly from this folder. Tell me if windows are colored, if icons are colored and if the system doesn't hang !! On the HATARI emulator, I don't know why, but the mouse doesn't respond correctly with my program, on a real ST, no problem! COLORSTE has a wrong name now as it can run on a ST...!! Thanks to everyone who helps! Guillaume. colorste.zip
+DarkLord
Hi DarkLord! Have you got a machine with TOS 1.02 ??? I have a beta version for this system. Guillaume. I'm afraid not. Lowest TOS version I've got is TOS 1.04, both in my Mega ST and in my STacy. Sorry! PS Would testing work for your software if TOS 1.02 was soft loaded using PPera's SELTOS? +DarkLord
Hi all, I need testers for TOS versions 1.00, 1.02 and 1.04 for COLORSTE. Guillaume. Hey. I grabbed this and ran it in low-res on my Mega ST equipped with TOS 1.04 and 4 megs. It also has an Adspeed accelerator. Rather than try to describe it all, I'll just upload some screenshots, that way you can see if its doing what you wanted it to. It looks really nice to me, and it didn't hang up at all in the 15-20 minutes that I played around with it. Oh, I also ran it on my STacy, with the PAK board turned off and booting up to a stock 2meg TOS 1.04 setup. Worked just fine there also. Hope this helps. So it's okay for TOS 1.04. Who can help for TOS 1.02 and TOS 1.00 ???? Guillaume.

moulinaie
Why not adding background images while you are at it? You read my thoughts... I was thinking of how to do it. Guillaume.

moulinaie
Dang, just looking at that makes me wish so much for a medium res desktop with a few more colors to play with! If I have some energy... I think I will at least add the new icons to the desktop for medium and high res (but a set of monochrom icons!) Colors in medium resolution... hem...., not so beautiful !! But I remember that Neodesk did it, and it was not so bad. No more testers for TOS 1.00 and TOS 1.02 ?????? Guillaume.

moulinaie
Update for non STE users! Now, if there is no DMA sound (in the ST or Mega ST), the program tries to load COLORSTE.YM that is a Yamaha soundchip file to play a little music at startup. So every ST can have its intro jingle. I need some help ! I have "stolen" a soundchip file from the DoSound package as I am unable to produce a correct one. Can anyone build me a little music (2-3 seconds) for the Yamaha and save it as raw data (for the XBIOS(32) function) to be used by COLORSTE??? Thanks a lot! The new version is on my page: http://gtello.pagesp...fr/colorste.htm Guillaume. Edited March 4, 2012 by moulinaie
