Fox-1 / mnx
Atarized version of "The Cure - A Forest" as used in the game "TRIX" (not the intro but the in-game tune). http://youtu.be/Owfd6oX3QpY It's a plain 16-8-8-bit Chaos Music Composer song but for some reason it just sounds good on pokey. edit: format Edited March 22, 2012 by Fox-1 / mnx

emkay
I wished , I had one .... either the tune isn't music and sounds ok-ish to the ears, or it is somehow clean music but one cannot listen to it for longer. Some exceptions is to find in "The Goonies" or "Master of the Lamps", where music and style fits. Some of the polish games do it well, using digis... and the game has been released. http://asma.atari.or...ch.php?play=297 Most good tunes never made it to finalized games.... just demos http://asma.atari.or...h.php?play=1547 Edited March 22, 2012 by emkay
Marius
Today I might other tunes... but I know years ago (when I was a kid) these were my alltime favorite atari musix: 1. The Extirpator intro 2. Red Max 3. Ghostbusters Edited March 22, 2012 by Marius1976
+Stephen
OK - found it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfo-tUHP7_o Best sounding music + digi-drums I have ever heard the little Atari do.
emkay
Beat sounding tune I have ever heard was for a Lemmings intro - I will see if I can dig up the YouTube link. Hard to find there ... Just "lemmings Intro Atari" 1st hit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfo-tUHP7_o Drums are really nice and the musical flow aswell. Just some yelling parts put it down here and there.... and the biggest mess: it has never turned into a game . emkay
In theory you'd only have to search for Tomasz Liebich, finalized games and digis I wonder what he had done, if knowing of controlled PWM ... http://asma.atari.org/asmadb/search.php?play=877
kenjennings
Hall of the Mountain King from "Peer Gynt" in the game Mountain King http://www.youtube.c...e&v=uMHZv6eC4G0 Great song, and perfectly legit to qualify as an Atari game song, though that's a classic composition (I forget who the composer is off-hand), which is probably why it's an appealing song to you, it's a famous composition. The composer is Edvard Grieg.

Yeah, the drums in that are really amazing. I've heard (and written :-) ) plenty of bad attempts at simulating drums, but this really does sound like drums. Do you think this is done with a digital sample?

gtkakega
i've always been fond of Ultima III and Ultima IV rhythms... Forbidden Forest couldn't get that little victory tune out of my head... Ballblazer song was cool... Alternate Reality intro was funky... was blown away by Draconus and Zybex theme songs when I first booted up... Mouse Trap tune was fun... Amaurote I was pulling my hair out at the music and gameplay
Yautja
"Thalamusik", originally composed by the genial Rob Hubbard for the C-64´s shot´em-up "Sanxion" and ported to atari 8-bit for "The Extirpator": http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2009/04/intro-de-extirpator-audio.html And here is what I consider the best cover of this song: http://atariteca.blogspot.com/2010/06/thalamusik-shitty-solo-version.html
