dazpants1
@BillC - For a collection like this i'm suprised there aren't more lol. Dropcheck
Poster just killed the auction. Last bid was for 4500.00 US that I saw. Wonder what it finally sold off ebay for?
Faicuai
Obviously. The "orgasmic" bidding just lasted for the last 48-hours (pretty stupidly, with NINE FUC_ING DAYS TO GO!), instead of everyone holding their "hypotalamus" impulse, and starving the auctioner, until the very last day, when you really strike (at your discretion). Talk about terribly poor bidding tactics & strategy... ...Either that, or someone there took a train, traveled to the auction's owner home, and left the cash at his door. dazpants1
All i can say is if an agreement was made off line then it must of been one msssive amount offered. @Faicuai - I agree about the bidding, best tactic is to wait until the last few seconds before striking so you keep the bit low. doctorclu
Beautiful collection. Not much into XL stuff, but was searching for 1090 things and found this link. Thought I would post the ebay information for people reading this later. ------------------ Atari Prototype Collection Atari 1450XLD, 1400XL, 1200 and Atari 1090 XL-Expansion System! Unique opportunity! Up for auction is a collection of Atari prototypes of the following systems: Atari 1450XLD - never released officially Atari 1400XL - never released officially Atari 1200 - Atari 1200XL prototype Atari 1090 XL Expansion System - Never officially released Experts know that such a collection will probably not be available in the near future. The units are in good cosmetic condition (see pictures), but they are prototypes which show traces of use and the plastic parts not always fit perfectly. The1450XLD has a 1450-motherboard built in, the keyboard is not connected since the cable is too short, here is probably a normal 1200XL-keyboard installed. The floppy is also not connected because the floppy controller is missing. Probably the device was only for exhibition purposes or photo shootings. The Atari 1400XL has a 1450-motherboard built in. The Atari 1200 housing has no surface-structure. The 1090 XL Expansion System is even with the cover (the few that leaked out are usually without cover). The devices are untested and I do not give any guarantee that the units are functional. Serious interested parties may inspect the equipment. For any questions or offers please mail! (scroll down for pictures) This is a private sale without any warranty. Atari Prototypen Sammlung Atari 1450XLD, 1400XL, 1200 and Atari 1090 XL-Expansion System! Einmalige Gelegenheit!
