Cybergoth
Hi there! This just came in: http://www.siliconera.com/2013/03/15/dungeons-dragons-shadow-over-mystara-tower-of-doom-are-coming-to-ps3-and-xbox-360/ Great news, the next day 1 purchase for me!
Taskmaster99
Excellent!!!!!!! This will save alot of wear and tear on my Saturn. Hands down one of my favorite games I have imported over the years. Too bad they never released it in the U.S. In fact most of my japanese Saturn games might have helped this system out if they came over here imo. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Algus
Also a day 1 purchase for me. Shadows took so many quarters from me. But my friends and I killed the dragon and ruled the high score list!
Gabriel
Figures. Just a few months after I plunk down $200 to buy the Saturn compilation and a 4M RAM cart for a friend.

cybercylon
Too bad you won't be able to play then on your PS4/next xbox.
Cybergoth
Too bad you won't be able to play then on your PS4/next xbox. Why would you think that? Just wondering, it seems for example that Wiiware can easily get transfered from Wii to WiiU.

I am making a guess with the next xbox, but Sony has already said no BC for the PS4.
Taskmaster99
Too bad you won't be able to play then on your PS4/next xbox. That had crossed my mind. Thankful that I have the Saturn version.
Cybergoth
I am making a guess with the next xbox, but Sony has already said no BC for the PS4. Oh, I didn't know that the PS4 will be generally incompatible. But on the XBOX it shouldn't be a problem I think, that would basically be just like an upgrade from one PC to another, no? All plain theory though, practically I don't ever give a working console away, so I can just play it on the PS3 for years to come
cimerians
I predict the news on the next Xbox is really going to suck. Hopefully it won't and I pray they prove me wrong but I have a bad feeling. Don't care though, I've decided I'm keeping my 360 and PS3 hooked up indefinitely.
BydoEmpire
Haven't played anything on 360 in a while, but I might have to pick these up. Thanks for the heads up!
Cybergoth
There's currently another hot rumour circulating that Capcom may also announce something Strider related for XBLA this weekend: http://gamefront.de/...rider-xbla.html (Just an image linked from a german page)
Algus
The more the consoles look towards crippling DRM, the more compelled I am to just switch to PC. PC games might have some pretty bad DRM, but at least there's tons of cheap indy titles that are awesome. And Steam actually runs sales on their platform.
NightSprinter
Really looking forward to these coming out. For those that've only played D&D 3rd Edition or later, these two games are based on 2nd Edition. Also, based on what was nicknamed "Original D&D" (where dwarves, elves, and halflings were considered classes instead of races, and a few other things were simplified some) expect some pretty brutal enemies and traps.
Gabriel
For those that've only played D&D 3rd Edition or later, these two games are based on 2nd Edition. That's pretty meaningless for games like these. They're button mashers with a coat of thematic paint. About all it really means is that Displacer Beasts actually look like big badass panthers instead of wet and starving housecats.
NightSprinter
Maybe so, but some actual strategies for certain monsters in the tabletop games do apply in the arcade games. Two examples are as follows: Displacer Beasts only project a shadow on the real enemy, not its copy (even in MAME, pay attention to the two). Same for beholders in the second game, as both the various eyes can cancel magic from in front and hit with various effects (such as Hold Person, Touch of Death, or Flesh to Stone). It's not as simple as you might think..
Algus
I just remember the troll boss where if you don't kill him with fire you have to keep fighting till NPCs help. And Classic D&D is <3. I finally talked my group into trying it and it was brutal. One guy went through 4 characters in one adventure lol
NightSprinter
Won't say which of the two games, what the boss' name is, or where in the game he's found, but if he captures a player just don't attack him. I do believe he's another monster where the real game's tactics come into play (attack him, and you damage your partner instead).

VW
This has been announced as coming out on Steam as well, the thread title should be changed to reflect this. I may have to try this out, I only know this game by reputation but it seems to have a good one.
Taskmaster99
Hooked up the Saturn and started playing this again to get my skills back. Cannot believe we have to wait until June. Seems so far away.
