eBay policy change to allow them to spam call you on the phone?

The Phone/Spam checkbox (see below) was checked by default in my account, so I unchecked it.

 

Here's the actual text from My eBay Notification Preferences:

 

Phone updates and promotions:

 

Call me about eBay programs like seller specials and other special events and oppurtunities. (If you're a seller, clearing this box means you may not receive some news, information, and invitations designed to help your sales on eBay.) [x]

 

Lol, they spelled "opportunities" wrong! Hope this helps!
