TheBizDude
Okay, here's my best attempt at a start (per picture). 1. Ponx 2. Remnant 3. Cyber Virus 4. Championship Rally 5. Raiden 6. S-I-M-I-S 7. Krazy Ace 8. Alien Vs Predator (Proto) 9. Sokomania 10. Desert Strike 11. T-tris 12. Othello 13. Hyperdrome 14. Bubble Trouble 15. SFX 16. Lexis 17. Blue Lightning Demo 18. Fat Bobby Other that I know to exist: 19. Daemon's Gate 20. Centipede 21. Loopz 22. Road Riot 23. Relief Pitcher 24. Dragnet 25. Marlboro Go (Man?) 26. Crystal Mines II: Buried Treasure (complete) 27. Test Cart I know this is a sketchy list because some of the titles were released in the Lynx' Hey-Day. I know a curved lip version of Desert Strike was made. I'm pretty sure Raiden and Krazy Ace were, as well. This photo pretty much runs the gammit on card styles/variations. The bottom half of this list are probably considered the least complete (finished) games. That's probably why I don't own them. Though, Centipede sounds like a must have - too bad it's vertical. Can anybody add to the list or provide other interesting info?
chris_lynx1989
raiden and fat bobby were originally released back in 1996 on an eprom card by b&c computer visions.then telegames decided to do a release of these themselves and bruce stopped doing them.so no curved carts of raiden were made to my knowledge.desert strike was done this way,i know.i'm thinking there were a few done on eprom carts by them too when the game was released in december 1993, before a full production run in curved form was decided on.krazy ace mini golf was done on eprom telegames cards(along with super off road and bubble trouble then).krazy ace saw release in march 1995,as i remember.these all came out on the icd cards later.bubble trouble was released in june 1994.hyperdrome saw an original release in 1998 on eprom from video 61.then telegames did a poly bagged release of it themselves in june/july 1999(also on eprom).it later came out as an icd card as we see it offered today by them. i think that pretty well covers it.sorry to ramble on so.just trying to be a bit thorough for you.hope i've helped.-chris
TheBizDude
Good info Chris. That means the only game I need the actual box for is Casino. It'd be nice to get the curved lip version of Desert Strike, but the label on it is lame (kinda like mine better), anyways. So the list is pretty complete, then? The only other game I can think of is Eye of the Beholder, which none probably exist. How many copies of Relief Pitcher are known to exist? All I can say is Lance better keep digging through HDs and find those 'lost' Rolling Thunder and Vindicators images!!! L8A! Gregg
glitch
I don't know if your list is only items w/ larger production runs or if you consider anything released at one time or another. Songbird Released a CGE 5th Photocard and Cybervirus CinciClassic Edition (which has a couple of new missions, I believe). Both were on the new songbird Black PCBs and came in CD cases. Both had very limited runs. Also a TNT Terry proto was sold in this forum not too long ago. They mentioned that there were only 2 ever made and they were never available to the general public. Standard green PCB, no case There is also the LGSS cart. I have never seen one so I cannot say what it looks like or type of box, if any. Video61 sells/was selling these. chris_lynx1989
relief pitcher is very, very, very rare.there are only three copies that are known to exist in the world by me.there are two that exist on an "atari eprom ram cart"(i own one of these copies myself) that is a 4/8 megabit (512k/1024K) board with provisions for a battery and resistors and diodes and capacitors for memory backup.i have an eye of the beholder eprom that also works with this board.these boards are set up with a double row socket to allow use with 4 or 8 meg eprom games.rows 1 and 3 are used on 4 megs and rows 2 and 4 are used on 8 megs.both rp and eye of the beholder are 512k/4 meg games.there was also another version of eye of the beholder that atari did two of and this was done on a 768k board.i was offered one of these a few years ago and it got sold to someone else befo- re i got it.that really pissed me off!(excuse me.sorry about that folks)i was also offered the other rp game like mine on the same board as mine the.i did not get it,either.the other rp is on a homemade board and eprom(as i let a friend scan my eprom to do it).rather rare atari stuff here.-chris
+davidcalgary29
Does this mean that "Relief Pitcher" is actually a finished game?
chris_lynx1989
relief pitcher is in the beta stage(90-100%).it is a very good lynx baseball sim.it beats the hell out of baseball heroes as a lynx sports title.too bad it was not taken past 90-some percent and released.with the "jag project" coming and taking up resources for atari the lynx took to the back burner on many fronts.money was tight at atari the last few years it existed and the jag was a new marketable hope for them.with lynx sales sagging they jumped ship to a ray of light they had up their sleeve.we lyners were ma- de to suffer because of this.both systems and atari died because of a lack of funds from their beginings though.no real ad chest was at atari to do any real big promotional pushes for jag or lynx.development went on on stuff as we can see from some of the stuff we keep digging up on eproms that were burned and hard drives.rp is proof.eotb is proof.centipede and a few others in recent years for lynx.i was always told most the stuff to co- me was stillborn or destoyed or incomplete and lost between 1995-96 up to the closing of atari's doors.some stuff was lost and/or stolen too.lynx releases were no longer a priority at atari so stuff layed in a drawer or was erased or sold off in auctions towards the very last days in '96.jag kind of saw this too.stuff was found in the warehouse in san luis obispo and san clara that folks didn't know was produced or existed.jack and the boys were a weird lot.stuff went on others knew nothing about.atari was a very strange place after the summer of 1992.we lyners lost a real lot that year.a real lot.epyx was still working on lynx games then and they needed a little bit of finishing money from atari.atari woulld not forward the funds to them so that epyx could finish their large brood of games-some 26 of them for summer and fall and christmas release in '92.epyx shelved and destroyed the lot of them because of the atari treatment.our real loss!!sad. very, very sad.we all got truly screwed there.epyx classics just gone.mak- es you think a bit, doesn't it?a red letter year for lynx.-chris
cryptik76
It would have been nice to see an Impossible Mission game for the Lynx. I'm not sure if anyone had proposed it or was working on it, but I definitely would have bought it. That and Winter Games.

The only additions I would make are Eye Of The Beholder for saving the high scores and resuming your game where you left off. Since you included Othello, I would also include the LGSS cart. Every Lynx collector should have one! And then there is the original BLL cart before SIMIS and Champ Rally came along. And don't forget there are two releases of Cyber Virus.... the full version and the Cyber Virus Cinci Classic Edition (only 25 made and each cart is numbered). Finally, there is the CGE 5th graphics demo cartridge, of which only 60 were made. I've never heard of one, but somewhere in the world there is probably a Vindicators prototype that never made it to production. Atari showed screenshots in magazines and the game looked finished. Twoface2
I have to add another: Bastian Schick and Lars Baumstark made a driving school theory test cartridge for the Lynx. It was meant for driving schools as a form of interactive learning. Commercially it wasn't successful, so only about 40 of them were made. They were packaged in a suitcase with a Lynx II, Manual and a Power adaptor. I am happy to own 2 of them. The cart features digitized pictures in color, b/w and painted roadsigns. Screenshots would be harder to take, but I could try with my cheap digicam It was Bastians & Lars first project, so I'm pretty sure this is the 1st homebrew Lynx title. intvgene
Why aren't some of these rarities part of the AtariAge rarity list? This message will fall to the bottom of the forum and nobody will ever know about some of this stuff... It seems like such a shame.
myatari
I have 2 of the original Telegames Desert Strike curved lip cartridges left in stock. They are new with box. Box is a 5 but cart is new mint. One has the original manual and the other a xerox. I had set these aside years ago because of the box condition. I will try to get the best of the 2 out on ebay this weekend. Because of all of the request I keep getting for proto carts I have decided to make more available. The price I have decided on is $39.95 for 1, $70. for 2, $90 for 3 or $100 for 4. For over 4 carts add $25 each. Mix and match, your choice.I will only make carts that are posted as public domain or I received direct from Atari. Here is what I have ready right now. AVP, Daemon's Gate, Loopz, Centepede, Road Riot, Marb#$% Go & Atari Diagnostic. I will also make Lode Runner, Vindicator, Relief Pitcher, Eye of the Beholder(non save ver) if I can get good images and a release.

myatari
I have had tons of E-mail about my proto special. Most people asking about a special on all 7 titles. TheBizDude
Some good stuff creeping out of the woodworks here!!! That driving theory kit is a riot - looks like it doubles as a first aid kit. I drool with envy over those EOB carts! Harry, that EOB pictured on the right looks like its starting to digest itself, better get that flux off! -Gregg

That's RTV to hold the wires in place. Some of the leads from the surface mounted chip are not connected to the board and need that extra support. Or maybe it is an extremely dangerous slime mold that has escaped from the game Harry (who wonders why no-one has commented on the non-curved styles of the other two games)

It has been a contract job and did address driving-school teachers. But it wasn't accepted, much because driving-school teachers in Germany earn a lot of money selling multiple-choice brochures. Some info: The card had 130 pictures and grey-scale photos and a data-base of 400 questions (about 130K text). The card-size is 512K. 42Bastian BTW: SIMIS and T-Tris are still available, just ask me :-)
