karokoenig
A small step for a man... Toyshop Trouble: 7,912. I don't think I'm going to try and get 20k in Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Gorfy
Since we're playing homebrews right now, I thought I'd give a plug to the Harmony games, which is still going on. The latest round has us playing Backfire (my pick), which is a very challenging yet fun-eliciting shooter. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/217028-round-9-of-the-2013-harmony-games-backfire/?do=findComment&comment=2835954

Miss 2600
I don't think Texas Chainsaw Massacre is as bad as some people say. I read the Video Game Critic's review and don't agree with most of it. I'm wondering if there is a strategy for approaching the victims. I noticed that some die quickly while others keep getting away causing Leatherface to use up fuel. I've tried different ways. I've revved up the saw right before making contact with the victim, a little before, and I've hid out of her view until close enough to surprise her with the chainsaw with varying results. I haven't succeeded enough with any of these strategies. Maybe it's just random.

Scrabbler15
7187 Those two-toned, three-coated trucks have got me seeing double. I wander around the shop in a daze looking for a toy that needs the color I'm carrying. Then I stand there, like an "I Love Lucy" episode, waiting for my time to run out. .

Lol to funny , at times I do the same thing . This is the best homebrew ! Did this game ever come with a box when it was released ? Maybe Al can answer that . And if it didnt ... can one be made ? Gorfy
I think I'm too ADD to do a whole lot better at this game. karokoenig
Slight improvement, and probably close to my limit... Brilliant game, I love it, I suck at it, end of story. 11, 373.
karokoenig
I haven't succeeded enough with any of these strategies. Maybe it's just random. I think it's totally random. I have just revisited the game for a few more tries. It's utterly arbitrary. First I thought I got the hang of it, scoring 6k with the first fuel tank, only to completely waste the other two tanks for two (!) more kills. What's also random is the frequency at which victims appear. There is no systematics. Sometimes you waste half a tank just walking, with no target in sight, sometimes they come one after another. If there is any "right" timing, it's beyond human capabilities to time it. I would say that everyone who can score more than 20,000 points regularly is not skilled, but lucky. Northcoastgamer
Toyshop Trouble - 46,599. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 23,000. Like Ladybug, Toyshop is another great great homebrew, very addicting. Guess Ill have to buy some more homebrews seeing how I can't find the few carts I need for my 2600 collection. I had no idea they were done so well! Strategy wise, don't finish painting the main toy for each day until that is all thats left, usually when toy count is down to a dozen or so. You get double points for each painted toy on screen once the last one is painted completely. As for Chainsaw, I move to the right starting out. As you approach victims, some you can get easily, others will move left, then right again as you near them. It's a quick left, then right move, then stab with the chainsaw, if they do move. Takes some practice. Once I hit 10k, I move left at the top of the screen. By quickly moving right slightly letting whatever obstacle leave the screen, then back left repeating until you get a victim to appear. It's also very important to get each victim with one rev of the chainsaw. Finally, keep resetting until there is a victim to the right of Leatherface, so you get a quick kill to start each game
