carlsson
Coach Carlsson forced the Swedish ice hockey players to not only stay awake, but play games long past midnight. They kept complaining "we can't beat Activision!" and "my legs hurt" but relentlessly, new lineups were put on ice to play over and over. Finally the tough playing schedule gave result, perhaps the Activision guys got just as tired and lost on purpose just to get a good night's sleep. In other words, here is our ice hockey score: 9-6 Rather mediocre compared to most of you other participants, but a big step in the right direction.

Scrabbler15
I'm intrigued by the name of this game, because the game doesn't have a mogul anywhere in sight. Mogul Maniac - 44.4 .
S.BAZ
Jacob - can you clarify what we are playing for in Ice Hockey? I'm confused whether it is combined score, or greatest margin of victory. scrabbler - are those mogul scores after both runs? it looks like after only one run carlsson, that's an awesome mogul score! now I know I can get much better at it & just didn't get it yet

karokoenig
New scores: Ice Hockey: Finally a score worth posting. I won in a heartbeat finale: 13-12. Skiing: First goal was to get below 30 seconds. Achieved: 29.80. Mogul Maniac: Slight improvement: 1:05.6. Slalom: Control scheme will ever stay very counterintuitive to me: 1:06.0. Bobsled: Slight improvement as well, but still bad: 46.5. Biathlon: Can't hit those targets...: 1:54.1. Speed Skating: Another humble goal: beat the computer opponent. Achieved: 26.6. Luge: Was hard enough for me to get a single run down without crashing. On the board with 45.2. Hot Dog Aerials: No time to get a decent attempt. On the board with a whooping 2.2. ...yay...! Still didn't manage to land a Ski Jump. Love the zoomed-in brutal crash animation, though... Edited February 9, 2014 by karokoenig

carlsson
scrabbler - are those mogul scores after both runs? it looks like after only one run I find it is perfectly fine to complete two runs of game 9 B/B at a total of 45 odd seconds if you make sure to run at maximum speed as much as possible, and of course don't miss a single gate. You can't accelerate and steer at the same time, so in the beginning you need to gain as much speed as you can before the first gate, and then keep accelerating until you reach 40 mph. As for the moguls, I believe those appear if you change the difficulty settings to anything else than B/B. Also if you change the Color - B&W switch to B&W, the controls respond like a joystick instead of a joyboard, but I suppose most or all of you have already found that out.
Scrabbler15
scrabbler - are those mogul scores after both runs? it looks like after only one run Yeah, it was two runs. The first run ended at 22.0. Carlsson is right on with his tips. Get up to top speed quick and make all the gates. An additional tip: On the staggered, vertical gates, the closest flag is just a suggestion. It doesn't matter if you don't make the top half of the gate. The bottom half of the gate is all that matters. .
Scrabbler15
Question for Jacob: After I posted my Skiing score, I went on to other things. When I came back to Skiing, the course was different. I was confused until I went back to the manual and saw that Game 5 is a different expert course for each session. Is this an intentional variability for this competition? Can we really compare times if everyone is skiing a different custom-made course? I just feel better knowing that the gates really are in a different place. It helps my sanity. .

If that makes sense hehe... anyway that's what the Sochians want!

JacobZu7zu7
Jacob - can you clarify what we are playing for in Ice Hockey? I'm confused whether it is combined score, or greatest margin of victory. Ice Hockey is scored by biggest margin of victory.... for example a score like 20-18 is useless, compared to 10-0. This is a more fair way to find the best Hockey player... it would be odd to see the GOLD go to 25-18 compared to 24-8. IMO. Hope that makes sense... here's the updated scoreboard for Ice Hockey, Ice Hockey GAME 1 B/B (Tied number is broke by who earned more goals) +15G 21-4 = 17 Scrabbler15, Germany +13S 20-4 = 16 Arenafoot, Jamaica +12B 17-3 = 14 cashcow06, Canada +10 19-7 = 12 LidLikesIntellivision, Russia +09 12-4 = 8 JacobZu7zu7, Australia +08 8-2 = 6 Mister-VCS, Germany +07 12-8 = 4 classicgamer_27330, Iceland +06 11-8 = 3 Tony The 2600, Australia +05 9-6 = 3 carlsson, Sweden +04 13-12 = 1 karokoenig, Germany +03 11-10 = 1 Gorfy, Tibet The real way to play is defend your goals first, and work hard to score goals yourself. I will deduct the number of goals the Olympics AI makes on you.
