AtariLeaf
Looking for a nice working pair of Commodore 64 paddles. Not sure what they're worth so perhaps I should have led with that question. My other question is which ones are better - I've seen two styles - one that looks like regular atari paddles with a more tan/beige color scheme and then there's these others that have a longer black base with grey knob and a big red button at the top. Is one designed for the Vic-20 or do both work with the C64? Trying to play games like Clowns and Pinball Spectacular with atari paddles is an epileptic nightmare of jitteriness. Rybags
The ones with the rectangular button are an ergonomic joke. Atari style much better. Not sure about Vic-20 but C64 paddles use 500K pots where Atari ones use 1M. What that means is on Atari, C= paddles won't generate the full range of possible values, Atari paddles on C-64 the available values will appear in a smaller area so the paddles will have a greater dead zone. Mayhem
Yeah, it's better to use Atari paddles on the C64 than the official ones.
AtariLeaf
I remember using atari paddles that work great on a 2600 were a jittery mess on a vic. Is the C64 different?
AtariLeaf
I'm going to hold off purchasing paddles for the C64 at the moment. Standard Atari paddles seem to do just fine after all.
