mojotv67
I haven't really seen a post for Tron Solar Sailer variants so with the recent thread about the I.I. version of it I've gone ahead and listed them here. 1) Made in U.S.A. - This I believe is the most common version as all the duplicates that I have are made in the U.S.A. As with the other Intellivoice games, this version is in a trayless pocket box with the cart, overlays and manual all made in U.S.A. 2) Made in Hong Kong - This is rarer that the U.S. version in my opinion. As with the other Intellivoice Hong Kong versions, it is in a plastic tray box with cart and manuals made in Hong Kong. The cart label also has the larger label with rounded corners and larger font. The overlays are printed in the U.S. (I think all the overlays are printed in U.S.A.). One interesting difference I noted was with the manuals: the layout is different as you can see in the following pictures: The first interior page on the H. K. version does not have a page # while the U.S. version starts with "1." 3) USA Intellivision, Inc - This would obviously be the rarest one and as with other I.I. versions it appears it was sold sans box - just the cart, overlays and b&w instructions in a baggie. The one I have has the b&w manual printed in the U.S.A, the gold label cart and overlays printed in U.S.A.. I don't think that there was a white label cart version. What I though was interesting is that this manual is printed in the U.S. but is copied from the Hong Kong version. If there is any incorrect information please feel free to correct me! +intvsteve
Nice! Don't know why I never made a Solar Sailer page. Thanks for doing this.
+cmart604
Nice! Don't know why I never made a Solar Sailer page. Thanks for doing this. Laziness...just sheer laziness.
+cmart604
Mojo, what does the back of the manual look like? Any company info on it?
+JasonlikesINTV
I just checked my Intellivoice games. All my Tron Solar Sailors are/were USA. I'm officially on the lookout for the Hong Hong version. I agree with Mojo about the rarity. I've owned 5 copies of Tron SS over the years and all have been USA. I checked the others as well. It looks like all four Intellivoice games came in both USA and Hong Kong versions. I have both versions of the other three, but regarding rarity...B-17 Bomber and Bomb Squad are overwhelmingly USA (Hong Kong being much rarer), while Space Spartans is typically Hong Kong (USA being rarer). mojotv67
Mojo, what does the back of the manual look like? Any company info on it? Back of the manual is a blank page, nada.

+intvsteve
There is this, though. Haven't hooked to the main site. I know the language filters aren't right (data may be bad, and likely still some back-end bugs). Been awhile since I've had time to work on it. http://www.intvfunhouse.com/games/variants.php?part=manual&game=sail Feel free to tinker with it and let me know what you think. H/t to intvdave for the image viewing library. Need to roll that out to the main pages to cut back on page switches. Any feedback you send will be read, flagged for being fixed 'in the spring'. +intvsteve
Wait, didn't Spring start six weeks ago? A calendar year is neither stated, nor implied. As if *I* needed to point that out.

dcasa
Humm... I recently purchased a loose Tron Solar Sailer that turned out to be a Hong Kong variant, didn't know they were rare.
