i got a colecovision and an expansion module 1 a few days ago (this is the oldest console ive ever owned so im pretty new to this) and after figuring out what i needed to hook it up to a tv, i cleaned it and the games. but i cant get any of the colecovision games to work. the atari expansion part works perfect, but when i put a colecovision game in i get a black screen (sometimes with vertical yellow lines) and a very loud beep coming from the tv. help please

The reason the Exp. Mod. #1 Atari Module works is that it bypasses almost the entire ColecoVision system with the exception of the Power Transformer and the RF output. So with that being said, there could be any number of problems with the ColecoVision which include:

- the Video Display Processor chip (VDP)

- the BIOS rom chip

- 1 or more bad system RAM chips. More than likely a number of them per what you describe.

- On/Off Power Switch (di-electric grease has completely dried out)

- Starting stages of the Power Transformer brick going bad

If you don't have the skill set to diagnose and repair the problem, then I would recommend sending Yurkie a PM to discuss repair, refurbish and mod options or try to find another "guaranteed" to be in working condition system.

thanks for the informative reply i definitely came to the right place , but i figured out what was wrong and fixed it. somehow i didnt notice that the first pin on the front left in the cartridge slot were smashed all the way down ,but after i bent it back up as best as possible it works perfect.
