Manoau2002
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a vectrex high score club? I run the Colecovision high score club and this club would run with the same rules (you can see the rules in the Colecovision high score club section) and format as that club. (A new round every two weeks-you can play on real hardware or emulators) I am trying to gauge interest so if this is of interest to you post a comment below. DonPedro
I'm interested. Any emulator you'd recommend for Windows XP?
Manoau2002
I'm interested. Any emulator you'd recommend for Windows XP? I've used ParaJVE http://vectrex-emu.blogspot.ca/ on Windows 7 and 8. The newest version came out in 2010 so I would have to guess that it would run on windows xp. It supports overlays built in and includes all of the Vectrex roms. There is also a vectrex emulator package for apple products it works quite well. (ipad, iphone, etc) https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/vectrex/id543152783?mt=8 There is an android vectrex emulator. It is not available in the play store but I haven't had much success with it. http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/threads/505908-Android-Vectrex-Vectrex-Emulator-for-Android-JXD-consoles Edited December 22, 2014 by Manoau2002

wongojack
I'm gonna give you a solid "maybe." Only because I can't really be trusted to make a mult-week commitment. I have the SK multicart, and it needs some good use.
Albert
I haven't really kept tabs on the Vectrex scene--how many unique games are there now, including homebrews? Are most homebrews available as binaries that can be run in emulation, or do you generally need to have them in cartridge form? Thanks! ..Al
50TBRD
There are something like over 100 (almost 30 original and a little over 70 homebrew). There are also quite a number of digital only, freely downloadable games. There are quite a few games that are only available through purchase and have no binaries available including Revival's games, Tutstronix's games, Vectorzoa's games, Irrelevant, Cube Quest and a few Fury games. Hate to tell you but there are already 2 dedicated Vectrex Highscore lists. And they don't get a lot of submissions. http://speechmachineband.com/scoreboard-vec http://www.vectrex.co.uk/ -Hit the Hi-scores tab. What I was suggesting is a tournament. (one game for two weeks multiple rounds) Since there hasn't been much interest I think I will shelf this idea for the time being. 50TBRD
I didn't gather that. Sorry. AtariAge isn't the best place for Vectrex discussion. There is a fair amount but a lot of people new to the Vectrex. Most of the Vectrex discussion goes on between the Vector Gaming Forums and the Facebook Group Vectrex Fans Unite. If you'd like to start up a competition, I'd recommend posting there as well. Don't expect a huge turnout though. Last year there were 2 tournaments and both had less than a dozen participants. One was a 2 month competition for Shifted by Revival Studios and the other was Vector War IV which included games like Armor Attack, Bedlam, Clean Sweep, Narzod, Starhawk, VFrogger, Protector, Birds of Prey and Zantis. VectorGamer
A few years ago I did a Vectrex tournament here on AtariAge and there was only one other person that participated here besides myself. Problem with Vectrex is the small library. Then there are games that aren't worth playing like Web Wars where you can rack up huge points without ever progressing in the game. Games with glitches like Berzerk. Armor Attack and Star Castle can also be marathoned. I'm not sure what the availability is for home brew ROMs either. Rogerpoco
My first post(I think). Ya, I'd be in on this... I have over a dozen "Twin Galaxies World Records"(I didn't say actual world records, who knows, just our site)on the Vectrex, several more awaiting adjudication, should be the top ranked player soon. Not sure if you want me competing in this or not!!! (I'm just silly, sorry. Friendly, promise!)
DaveD
I'd be interested in any of the emulated games available in the IOS app. It's a great app and this would be a cool excuse to fire it up more.
