kogden
panix.com offers dialup shell account access in the US for a monthly fee. Using an Atari 850 or P:R: converter you could use just about any serial modem you want. Some newer modems may not like 300bps. 1200bps should work in those cases though. What are you using for a modem?

kogden
Im using a xm301 I'm not sure how well newer modems will sync up at 300bps. But then again, I haven't tried either. All I could suggest is to dial up one of the phone numbers and see if a connection establishes and you get a login prompt. An SX212 would probably work no problem, the XM301 might be hit or miss. An Atari 850 would make your life easier when it comes to modems and connectivity.
