+xucaen
I've been research jaguar games and a lot of lists out there tend to mix cartridge games with CD games and include homebrew games. But I wanted a list of cartridge games that excluded CD and homebrew games, so I made one. I came up with only 47 49 cartridges. Alien vs. Predator Atari .Atari Karts Atari .Attack of the Mutant Penguins Atari .Breakout 2000 Telegames .Brutal Sports Football Telegames Bubsy: Fractured Furry Tails Atari Cannon Fodder Virgin Checkered Flag Atari Club Drive Atari Cybermorph Atari .Defender 2000 Atari .DOOM Atari .Double Dragon V Williams Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story Atari Evolution: Dino Dudes Atari .Fever Pitch Soccer Atari .Fight for Life Atari .Flashback US Gold Flip Out Atari Hover Strike Atari .I-War Atari .International Sensible Soccer Telegames Iron Soldier Atari .Iron Soldier 2 (cartridge & CD) Telegames Kasumi Ninja Atari .Missile Command 3D Atari .NBA Jam: Tournament Edition Atari Pinball Fantasies 21st Century Entertainment .Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure Atari .Power Drive Rally Time-Warner Interactive Raiden Atari Rayman Ubi Soft Ruiner Pinball Atari Super Burnout Atari .Supercross 3D Atari .Syndicate Ocean Tempest 2000 Atari Theme Park Ocean .Towers II Telegames Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy Atari .Troy Aikman NFL Football Williams Ultra Vortek Atari Val d'Isere Skiing & Snowboarding Atari White Men Can't Jump Atari Wolfenstein 3D Atari .Worms Telegames .Zero 5 Telegames Zool 2 Atari .Zoop! +xucaen
That's good to know. I had read somewhere (can't find the link now) that Telegames had released the unfinished games that were supposed to be "official" but didn't make it in time before Atari went out of business. I noticed that Brutal Sports Football and International Sensible Soccer were also released by Telegames. Were they also released after Atari went bankrupt? +xucaen
Oh that's right! Iron Soldier II was released on both cartridge and CD.
+madman
I think that's it, the Songbird releases aren't technically homebrew, just games that never had an official commercial release.
Willard
that's a pretty interesting article, I wonder what they mean when they say "Atari had to agree to continue to support the jaguar for another year." Was there a quota of games they had to reach, or just fulfill warranty obligations .etc? IMO telegames really did more harm than good to the Jaguar during the time when the system was commercially viable. Had Atari not given them responsibility for Tiny Toons we might actually be playing that game today... reading the case history it sounds like they made the Atari project managers life a living hell. JAGUAR
Looks like Iron Soldier 2, Breakout 2000, Zero 5 were official. No, they weren't. The Atari they are talking about in that article is the new Atari that formed after the jts merger. Atari Jaguar Atari fired everyone by early 1996 and they were DEAD in early 1996. completely dead, gone. sold out. the telegames releases from late 1996 onward were NOT official Atari Jaguar games marketed or sold AT ALL by the original Atari ran by the Tramiels................. They were marketed and sold by telegames only (based in texas and the uk, the real Atari obviously in California..). Obviously the earlier telegames releases like brutal sports were official, that was released early 1994 when the real Atari was still very much alive. if you want to count the telegames releases that WOULD have been official if Atari had not died, that's another story. Then you might as well included ALL the games that were released after Atari died that would have been official, like all the songbird and b&c games, fininshed and not finished... And really we shouldn't see the late 96 telegames games as official Atari releases especially since the darn guys who made the games didn't get paid, LOL. Comparing games that were available in retail stores with unfinished games made with EPROMs from B&C. Your logic is flawless.
Serblander
Anyone know the release date of the original Protector (not S.E.)? Was that an official release as well or not? Can't remember if it was or not as the cobwebs are gathering in my memory banks. On that note, i thought all the Telegames games were official release... (their Jag games anyway)

Bill Loguidice
I bought Towers II in a store ... In the US, games like Zero 5 and Towers II were sold for a time in the Electronics Boutique chain (I don't think it changed over to Gamestop at that point). ovalbugmann
THere is no Primal Fear game available for the Jaguar, for the masses. It's another cancelled game, prolly. Dragon would know. Not sure who might have a beta tho, if it exists?
JAGUAR
a game for sale in a retail store doesn't mean anything. there is no difference between a game sold in a store or one sold from a bedroom... Atari had nothing to do those those telegames games available in stores for sale. they were dead. not paying anyone since early '96. they had nothing to do with those games in the brick and mortar store, therefore, not technically official Atari releases. everyone knows the last official Atari releases was obviously fight for life and the lesser known last official cd release was braindead 13. so there. if it were up to Atari towers ii never would have been released but Atari were forced to allow for another year their "support" for jaguar games which meant nothing really (just meant Atari couldn't pull anything legally in court) don't know how anyone could claim late 96 jaguar games were official in anyway when Atari was dead a full 6+ months earlier. Make sense? ya. (and even the fight for life guys barely got paid) Edited February 3, 2015 by JAGUAR
+CyranoJ
Gorf might disagree with you on this point. Pretty sure Time Warner would as well. there is no difference between a game sold in a store or one sold from a bedroom...

JAGUAR
Funny how all of a sudden late 1996 releases are considered official when since 1996- up until a few days ago , everyone and their mom knew that Fight For Life was the last official Atari cartridge release (January 1996 for FFL versus Towers II December 1996).... Its funny. Ive done research out the ying yang on this type of stuff, you know, im the one who did the timeline? Ya. untold amount of hours researching and studying jaguar releases. I guarantee in December 1996 when towers ii and then other telegames releases first hit stores, the actual Atari building in Sunnyvale California was COMPLETELY empty and deserted. So, ya. not official then. No Atari backing at all in any way, hence when the programmers were shocked when they heard Telegames was selling this games, rather illegally probably in the opnions of the guys who made these games!!! They were never paid. Edited February 4, 2015 by JAGUAR
