LynxHandyCaster
I am going to try to tackle again over the holiday. ...as will I. Going out of the country and getting back home on Monday the 28th. Hopefully I can try to come close to 67k, but the best I've been able to do so far is 29,036. globeron
Practise is slowly showing its effect. Hello? Anybody still out there? Changed to Suzo The Arcade Joystick, my favorite, with the same Classic99 Games 512K cart 1 (option O = Centipede) Getting better using the Joystick: 33241

+mizapf
Honestly, I did not pick it because I knew I'd score that high. I did not play Centipede for decades, I just remembered it was one of my favorite games. It seems a bit like riding a bike.
+OLD CS1
I did well this time around, but did not have the time I thought I would for bettering myself. Was fun, and I look forward to a better run next month.
Omega-TI
From what I understand women are usually the best Centipede players on average, but for the rest of you guys wanting to save face, might I suggest you click... <<< HERE >>>
globeron
From what I understand women are usually the best Centipede players on average, but for the rest of you guys wanting to save face, might I suggest you click... <<< HERE >>> Interesting strategies, first of all I cannot hear the sound of spider anymore :-) also another strategy, leave 1x of the centipede pieces running at the bottom and start to clear the mushrooms. (but new centipede pieces come along so shoot them as well)... but this strategy did not work to get the higher scores. just shooting and keeping the bottom rows clear and focus on shooting spiders. I never played it as a kid, did not find it interesting, but with the competition going along with it, it is fun and another TIXELS game (see TIXELS picture at the beginning of this thread/forum). Sinphaltimus
Unfortunately, I too love this game but I've never ever played it with a joystick or game controller. Only the arcade version with a track ball.
LynxHandyCaster
Practise is slowly showing its effect. Hello? Anybody still out there? Congrats, mizapf, on your 67k score. The best I could do was 29k, less than half of your score. I'm not worthy!
Shift838
I tried my hand at this game and i could not even break 20k! I wonder what Michael has in store for us this time.
+mizapf
So here is one last attempt from me on Centipede; my hand starts aching ... The next game will be announced shortly.
+mizapf
OK then, it's time for a new challenge for December 2016 ... (We'll need a list somewhere; it's getting harder to find out what we already had.) This time I really don't know whether I my skills will earn more than pity ... You know him? Onward and upward, I'd say!
+Ksarul
All things considered, this could be one of two fun titles: Alpiner or Bigfoot, as both involve alpine climbing. . .but I think we've had Bigfoot already.
+mizapf
"Onward and upward" - this is Alpiner.

+mizapf
You know him? Hint: The guy was a very famous actor, in particular for these alpine films, and I was quite surprised to find a colored photograph. I knew him only as black/white. +mizapf
Before this gets too long - the guy on the photo is Luis Trenker (read like "Louis" or "Lewis"), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Trenker He is, you could easily say, the archetype of the alpinist, and doesn't our Alpiner indeed have some similarities? The other candidate would have been Reinhold Messner (the first one to climb the Mount Everest without oxygen bottle), but I guess Luis is a better match.
