BGH
Hey all, created an account on the site since I've been on an Intellivision kick for the past few months ever since my family's 2609-A fried its logic board. Sometimes you don't remember what you had until it's gone, huh? Anyway, that got me to buy an Intellivision II... then a Flashblack... and then another 2609-A (I got hooked bad). I was looking at the Intellivision Rocks CD from a few years ago and saw that it contained all the Activision and Imagic games, as well as most of the ECS games which would be pretty neat to have (crosses fingers for Flashback 2), although I don't want to play via keyboard. Does anyone know if the disk may be compatible with the Inty II or Flashback controller if I were to buy one of the DB9 to USB adapters on the market? I was looking at one from Retronic designs, but not sure if the CD would recognize it as an input device.
atarifan88
I have the Intellivision Rocks CD and play the games on the JZINTV emulator using the roms from the Intellivision Rocks CD. I also use an Intellivision FB controller with this adapter: http://www.2600-daptor.com/Vision-daptor.htm Using this allowed me to play the ECS games as you have a keyboard to use during emulation. I also used it with the Intellivision Rocks emulator, but prefer the JZINTV as it automatically maps your controller. BGH
Thanks! I didn't realize the ROMs could be extracted from the CD for use; awesome! Is it the same with the Lives! CD as well?

mr_me
The retronic usb adapter turns the intellivision or flashback controller into a USB joystick with 15 buttons. You can play any PC game with the intellivision controller. It works well.
ovaessen
I'am interested in the CD-ROM " Intellivision Rocks". Do you know where I can buy the CD-ROM? If it is not be available for sale enymore, where can I download the torrent-file of the concerning CD-ROM. Perhaps one of the forummembers owned the CD-ROM and want it to selling to me. It's unlikely more will be produced; you can ask at info@intellivisionlives.com . It does show up on ebay once in a blue moon. Torrent? Are you looking for the games to play or the extras on the CD? ovaessen
I like (if it is possable) to have to total filesetup of the CD-ROM "Intellivision Rocks" so I can installited it native on mine computersystem with operatingsystem Windows-XP SP3. When I have the complete torrent, I can play the 30 games in the original layout with corresponding manuals. Better is that I (if it is possable) can purchase the oridgenal CD-ROM. наилучшими пожеланиями
Guest LiqMat
I was told by Intellivision Productions (Keith Robinson) in an email that Activision will not re-license those games currently when I asked if they would be releasing an updated combo Lives! and Rocks! DVD that would work on a modern machine. So that kind of sucks. I used to have the original CD, but have misplaced it. I do however still have my CUE and BIN files when I backed up the CD. I just use the roms off of it. "Yes, we do hope to have an updated collection later this year. Unfortunately, Activision will not let us re-license the games on Rocks. Unless we can change their minds, we will only be able to reissue Lives, adding the ECS and Intellivoice games from Rocks." - from Keith Robinson in August 2015. Unfortunately that updated collection never appeared. Edited February 25, 2016 by LiqMat
freewheel
I see the CDs on Ebay all the time. It's a pretty cheap pickup for anyone wanting it. You can also get some of them for various consoles of the day. I've got them for Xbox and PS2 at least.

PC version is a little more frequent, but none right now. Lives! for the consoles all day long though. With game roms sourced elsewhere they can be emulated on windows, linux, macosx, raspberry pi, and others.
