Rockin' Kat
Hello, I have a Model 1 Genesis with no A/C adaptor. I would like to know what the polarity is so I can use my universal adaptor on it.
CPUWIZ
I'll hook my Genesis adapter up to a DMM tommorow if you don't have an answer by then.
Intrepid
Maybe this pic will help, I found it on google and it's made for the 1st gen Genesis. http://store4.yimg.com/I/midwestgames_1730_327519
Ze_ro
Just to add some more information... pretty much all of Sega's stuff uses the same power adapters... I routinely use my 32X adaptor to power my Game Gear, and it's the same adapter as for the Genesis. Wouldn't surprise me if the SegaCD and even the Pico used the same plug. 10V DC, 0.35A, Center Tip Positive is what I'm using... Intrepid, your adapter seems to be using the opposite polarity! Perhaps the Genesis is polarity independant... --Zero
Smada Bez
Here are the specs for a model one adapter. output 9v DC 1.2A center negative The model 2 genesis is a bit differnet. output 10v DC .85A center positive I'm not sure what a model 3 uses. The game gear adapter is the same as the model 2. I'm not sure about the 32x or sega cd because I don't have them. Also the model 1 adapter and the jaguar adapter have the same specs. Witchfynde
I'm not sure about the 32x or sega cd because I don't have them. (also in reply to Ze_ro) The same adapter for the first Genesis also works with the first model of their cd player. The second cd player has a different adapter though.
