+intellivotion
No many Intellivision games have non original music in their soundtrack and I would like to know titles and authors of all of them.I have not found a thread similar to this one, except one about the wonderful music of Thunder Castle (thank you, eatenbygrues, IntellivisionDude and jaybird3rd).If there is, please forgive me and forget/ignore this thread. For the moment I have recognized the non original music of only 11 or 12 games and I hope someone will help me to fill the empty spaces (especially with the Imagic games). I know I’m not the only one here who loves Intellivision AND music. Merry Christmas, folk!! mr_me
Sub Hunt had "Ride of the Valkyries". It was one of the best rewards for winning in a video game. Edit: I thought it was called flight of the valkyries but I think I got it right Edited December 24, 2015 by mr_me

It's in the end of the game, right. I had forgotten about that. Thanks! EDIT: it's not too late to edit my first post! +fdr4prez
I recall a phone app where you start the app, hold the phone up (or to the speaker) of said music and it will listen for a bit and let you know the name and artist. Now that is not quite geared up for retro-ized themed music, but just a thought. I would do poorly on the Name That Tune game show.

intvnut
Lessee: Checkers also has Ride of the Valkyries as its victory theme. Electric Company Math Fun: Electric Company Theme Song. If I understand the Wikipedia page correctly, it may have been authored by Eric Rogers. Sewer Sam opens with Pop Goes The Weasel. Christmas Carol's title music is Carol of the Bells, by Mykola Leontovych. It also plays a bar of 'Silent Night' (Franz Xaver Gruber) whenever you pick up a gift. 4-Tris has two Tchaikovsky tunes from the Nutcracker suite: The Nutcracker March (title screen), and The Chinese Dancers (in-game). (Not sure I have the correct official titles here.) The Game Over music is a couple bars from Bobby McFarrin's Don't Worry, Be Happy He-Man: This CD suggests the authors of the theme song: http://www.amazon.com/He-Man-The-Masters-Universe-SET-Original/dp/B00VS9IPAO Tron Solar Sailer: Tron Scherzo, Wendy Carlos I can't quite place the theme song in Carnival, nor the short tune that plays when you advance in Beauty and the Beast.
mthompson
Land Battle plays the Marine's Hymn (From The Halls of Montezuma) when one player wins. Takeover plays "The Song of Marseille" at game's end.

+thegoldenband
Carnival is "Over the Waves (Sobre las Olas)" by Juventino Rosas. That tune is all over Looney Tunes cartoons, but I never knew what it was called until now!
mr_me
I didn't know that about Checkers, Sub Hunt must have stolen it. Turns out Backgammon has music too. I think its Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture. It might have a different tune when you lose. I don't know too much about classical music but I recognised it from Caddyshack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVfybDJta5I
+thegoldenband
Thought of another one -- the death tune from Pitfall! is basically the "Main Title" theme from Dragnet.

+intellivotion
Kind of beating a dead horse anymore and it is Christmas Eve and all but We don't know for sure how many Inty games will be released for sure next year, but either way, it's out of our hands. These publishers are going to do what they're going to do and I hope they do a lot. It is what it is, so we'll see what happens. No need to get excited yet and assume things, there's plenty of time to save up money. :-) I guess you intented to post this in another thread Edited December 25, 2015 by intellivotion

I did play through a couple quick games of USCF Chess (including one deliberate loss) to remind myself of whether it plays any music (it doesn't). +thegoldenband
As our resident music expert, I fully expect you'll have all the blanks filled in by the New Year. Thunder Castle has more music than we've got listed. One missing piece (literally!) is the victory tune, the keyboard Sonata K. 159 in C major by Domenico Scarlatti: Also, as jaybird3rd pointed out in another thread, the death tune is from Beethoven's 9th (the second movement).
mr_me
Loco-motion - "I've been working on the railroad" This site was helpfull. http://www.intellivisionlives.com/retrotopia/hifi.shtml Magic Carousel - "Maple Leaf Rag" Intellivision Intelligent Television 1978 demo - "Also Sprach Zarathustra" And according to that site Thunder Castle also has a small portion of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The part where your night dies but I don't see it. I don't really have a musical ear. Merry Christmas everyone thunder_castle_death.mp3

That game is literally a masterpiece, imho. Great graphics, extraordinary music and funny gameplay. I purchased back in the days and it's still among my 5 favorites. I try to find the death tune in the movement. EDIT: Found it! Just after the death tune there's also the music when the knight has the "power" in the 3rd stage. So Symphony 9, 2nd Movement is used twice: a part when the knight dies and another one when he can defeat the demons Edited December 25, 2015 by intellivotion
