marakatti
Totally agree here. Like the underdog status. Takes some skill to program ST for good results too. And i just loooove the crisp chip music. It's much more retro sounding than filtered Amiga samples from inside the vacuum cleaner
ataricrypt
You're right mate. I have 10x more chiptunes (SNDH, SID, etc) on my hard drive compared to MODs

Zap!
The only thing I regret about my STe was waiting until mid-1991 to get it. Of course, being 18 with no job, that was a bit beyond my control. Edited March 7, 2016 by Zap!
pixelmischief
The Amiga fanboys will be around soon to tell us how wrong we all are... Yeah, but the post is Commodore Fan Troll-Bait anyway.
ParanoidLittleMan
I don't agree that ST is the greatest. My Mega STE takes more place !

Cyprian
In a "real computer" category the ST was the best 16bit computer of 80's. It offered the best possibilities for the best price. in a category important for kids - gamming, ST was also good but it had a strong competitor. +DarkLord
Yeah, but the post is Commodore Fan Troll-Bait anyway. I would agree with that more if it had been posted at a Commodore site. But here? On an Atari site? Only if they come looking for trouble.
Ayreon
Amiga rulezzz. Me Miggy's power brick keeps me feet warm while meditating for guru's. marakatti
Actually I have couple of them myself too After all, weren't the original chips financed by Atari in the first place?

English Invader
One of the things I love about my ST set-up is that I can copy a program from an old magazine disk onto my UltraSatan hard drive, take the SD card over to my PC and then run the program on an emulator (most old media can't be transferred over to PC without specialist equipment) and I also love the way the US operates through the GEM environment without the need for a special file manager - you can add and delete files at will right there on the ST and an external hard drive solution is so much more classy than hacking a hole in the side of the case to fit a Gotek floppy emulator.
