high voltage
Finally I got to play River Patrol, Hozer made me a copy (yes it can be done now) of this game. Played it this week and I like it a lot. Controls take a bit getting used to, but after a while, once you've got the hang of it, great. Still trying getting up the first river, I'm sure I'll manage the second river this weekend. 9 rivers to manage altogether. Nice game, was this Tigervision's last entry for the 2600? NE146
I played the arcade game a lot as a kid and still fire it up now and then on Mame.. but honestly I have yet to really try the VCS version "in-depth" to see how it holds up. Guess I can pop it on my cuttle cart..

Atari_Bill
Never saw the arcade game. Looks very cool. Makes me want the 2600 version all the more now. Sucks that I'll never have it.
Buyatari
I've owned this one a few times but I can't say that I share your appreciation for this game. However, you did teach me something important. I never knew that this was an arcade port. Very interesting.
Supergun
Yes, completely disagree as well, 2600 River Patrol is lousy. The background music is absolutely atrocious & extremely annoying. Rarity wise it's great. Gameplay wise it sucks!
toiletunes
Tigervision's last game was Espial iirc
NE146
lol I just played it in Stella and finished the 1st round for the first time ever. It's actually a pretty faithful port gameplay-wise, except you cant angle your ship to finesse a little better. But I can definitely see why if you haven't had any experience playing the arcade game and you tried this version, most would just try it and go "wtf".
