KidGameR186496
This video came out last week and it went unnoticed. It seems like a New game and complete with box and a manual i believe. What are your thoughs on this? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Sj1RZU9Pjw8
+CyranoJ
I don't know - it's hard to tell from a glowing TV set that floods everything
+save2600
Yeah, wth? Guy showing off his Pro Controller and rare Falcon pad too. Looks like someone ported CD-I Battleship sans the full motion clips maybe? I hears fancy 16-bit audio splashes anyway...
+Sauron
This is Sergi of Raregame fame. He used to post on here a long time ago, until he got driven off because of hosting Jag ROMs on his website. Looks like he made good on his threat to make his own Jag games. Swansea_Mariner
That has got to be the worst YouTube vid I have ever seen. Would be interesting to see more of the game though!

VladR
Would be interesting to see more of the game though! It's a Battleship clone with added feature of SilentService-style aiming. It's been a long time since I last read Russian, but this link describes the gameplay and AI in much more comprehensive detail: http://raregame.ru/text/Sea_Battle.html According to the article, the AI is quite advanced and it's hard to win over it, which is a welcome challenge to current Battleship-style game (especially the latest one on PS4, where AI plays incredibly retarted). Isn't there a Battleship-style game on Jaguar already ? Or is this actually the first one ?

+Sauron
Been talking with Sergi about this, by the way. The game's not quite finished yet, despite the claims above.

WAVE 1 GAMES
Been talking with Sergi about this, by the way. The game's not quite finished yet, despite the claims above. So this isn't an actual release? Im confused
82-T/A
My impression is that he's plaing a VHS that has both the intro to the Atari Jaguar, and then a recording of some Battleship game. When it switches between the Jaguar intro and Battleship, you get scan lines as if the feed drops for a moment, which causes the TV to bring up the channel again... this is very common in VHS video (from those of you who remember the time). A box is pretty easy to make, it's also not glossy... so I'm guessing he just printed it on a desk jet or something.

Did he suggest when this is likely to be released, I love the physical game and a Jag version would be 'super cool'.
+Sauron
Did he suggest when this is likely to be released, I love the physical game and a Jag version would be 'super cool'. No, basically just said he wanted to add more features. The convo was in the comments for that YouTube vid, although the conversation is in Russian. +Sauron
Went back and reread his comments (god, my Russian is still horrible...). He doesn't have sound in the game yet. He also wants to try selling some carts before he posts a ROM on his site.
Swansea_Mariner
That's fair enough. I'm sure there will be the usual cartridge partapartakers on here when the time comes for him to make some cash.

He also wants to try selling some carts before he posts a ROM on his site. Yeah, re: the sound... saw where he said that in his comments to you in his YouTube vid, but really? What's the splashing we hear starting at 51secs then? Also thought there's (faint) background music that seems to change between screens... just gave another listen - yep. Google Translated his Sea Battle page: The finished our project naval combat for two players combined strategy simulator shooting through the periscope, ie 2 species of sea battles in a game called - Sea Battle (Atari Jaguar) So was completed long ago started project naval battle on the Atari Jaguar, the game was very interesting and a combined 2 species of sea battles - is just a strategy for the cells and fight itself through the periscope serving player podgadat movement of enemy sea units. The whole plot is simple - fight Red vs. Blue, available accommodation card, visually represented in shades of green like a radar monitor, but in fact the channel movement of marine combat units, which is being hit. At the same time there are several types of games: - International or common in the world where vehicles are placed linearly, but can stand next to each other - Russian or Russian, which ships razmeschyayutsya not only linear, but also at right angles, with 2 koryablya can not come into contact with each other and between them is bound to have one empty cell of the playing field Additionally, the game has an active combat mode - hit the enemy missiles through the periscope sight - Battle Mode or mode active naval battle in which you must not only guess the location of a marine vessel, but also physically hit a missile in it through the periscope and guidance system, with the enemy may accelerate the movement of your ship or slow it down To better understand the essence of the game available screenshots of it - the title screen, main menu, menu options, gameplay and combat mode Interesting and unusual decisions in the game: - The field of play is made in shades of green, in the style of a radar or sonar screen - One-decked ships in the form of helicopters, three-deck in the form of submarines - Offering of its marine combat units on the screen is performed in manual mode, it is assumed that the opponent is not looking at the screen, and in automatic mode, randomly, with the player to save time, which as a whole is all the same where he placed his ships usually - Dislodging the enemy is not performed by a torpedo, and in modern war - missiles, so the rocket flies from the top - above the sea, while the opponent can slow down or accelerate your move to avoid getting - The computer intelligence, or in this case, Jaguar suggests a fairly high rate and churning vygrat it difficult, and the likelihood of your victory over them 50% / 50% - The game does not need to play, you can play and watch as the computer itself and winning bets drinking beer Video game process can be viewed on our channel - Dannya game is freely available on the cartridges Jaguar - you can easily order a cartridge - will be happy!
